First thing that will strike your mind once you walk out of the theatre is " I think i just watched a tamil movie"

I bet that would be the felling the majority of us would have got after watching Myskin’s ANJATHE.

Most of us would have watched the movie, " The broken Arrow",  John travolta utters a piece of dialogue in that movie  "Show something and do something".  Myskin has followed that in this movie.

The story, though simple, is something new in tamil movies.  Friends turn foes and then friends again????  naaaaaa,  that would be the normal director’s way of making movie not myskin.  The movie, very artistically, captures the turbulant times between two friends who head towards the destiny which was the others!!.  Confused??,  One friend who is a misfit, drinks, roams around and hates the very idea of POLICE,  becomes one  and the other who toils to become a good police man,  turns out to be what his friend was destined to be,  a rowdy.

to capture the highs and lows of the movie,

1.  The Screenplay is Fantastic.  Few may argue that movie is a shad too lengthy.  I beg to differ, most of the scenes are really needed in the movie.  People who could tolerate Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, for 3 plus hours, this movie would be a cake walk
2. The Cast’s performance is very good.  Naren is not as good an actor as being projected,  but he is not bad as an actor either.  Ajmal ameer looks a Stud,  be it in the role of a guy aspiring to be a cop or as a rowdy.  His acting is good as well.  I would say Prasanna is the show stealer.  I bet guys like vijay, vishal etc have to learn from prasanna.  Prasanna has not done so many movies,  but he has ensured that he does variety of roles.  The role of a bad guy, in just his 10th odd movie is an effort commendable.  this Guy has loads of talent.  Bhaskar, ponvannan, kalidas etc, provide a finesse to the acting section.
3. Music, strangely, is very very very good. By music i mean the background score.  The right sound can speak a 1000 words so they say.  You can evidence that in few of the really touching scenes in the movie.  Great Job Sundar C Babu.
4. Direction  the movie travels in only one direction, straight into the audience’s mind.  I must mention that Myskin has succesfully established himself as one of the most reliable and logical movie directors in tamil industry.  Heartening to see a director give such great importance to logic.
5. The Camera work , looks more natural and iam sure the camera man has tried to use natural lightings more.  The audience, for once,  will not get a feeling of watching an ultra bright and colorful movie.  As mentioned earlier,  the director has tried to ensure that things stay close to reality.


Now to the lows

1. Songs are a major burden to the movie and spoil the tempo that the screenplay successfully establishes.  I have always maintained that the distance between international cinema and tamil cinema is only due to songs,  only those songs which are detached from the movie or are not there to help the script move.  I hope mysking reads my review and corrects this :-)
2. As a result of the songs, the movie is a bit lengthy.
3.  I had to put the serial no. 3 here,  else there was nothing much to write here.

I was extremely proud that Tamil cinema had a saviour in the form of Myskin, especially when insane vijay movies continue to hit the screens and run away at the same pace.  Myskin has proved that he is an asset worth investing on by his producers.

Movies like anjathe are the rays of hope that Tamil cinema can survive the insanity that is movies like, ATM, Kuruvi, Bheema, etc.

Tamil cinema!!!  Myskin irukka ANJATHE!!!!!!! y fear when myskin is here
