I have an American express – Kingfisher card.
Overall I am satisfied with the card – can’t say much about customer service since haven’t had the opportunity to use it.
Some advantages/ Positive aspects
-
Good online access
- Bills are always in order
- Points accumulated on the card can be transferred to my Kingfisher account as frequent travel files. This is ofcourse a big advantage if you travel by kingfisher regularly.
- You get access to the fist class kingfisher lounge at airports (even if you are traveling economy) -> also a great boon it you travel a lot (esp on kingfisher)
- Decent selection of gifts against reward points.
Some points that you need to consider before you go in for this card
- Joining fee is a bit on the higher side
- Not all merchants accept American express.
- Interest charged is on the higher side
- On joining you are given free first class upgrade vouchers for kingfisher. The deal is that you can only use these voucher 48 hours before you fly – and then too preference is given to paying customers. So this year I have taken 52 flights and on each instance tried the upgrade vouchers – but no luck. Hence do not consider this as an offset to your joining fee – it isn’t . . . . . .
- Though the gift selection options are good – but ordering your gift isn’t that simple. Once an order is placed online – a letter is dispatched too – you need to further forward this letter to a specified vendor/dealer.
Overall I am satisfied with the card and would recommend that you go for it provided you fit the following profile
- You fly quite often
- You always fly kingfisher
- You always clear your credit cards bills on a monthly basis
- You generally shop in Malls / big shopping complexes
