Being a frequent shopper (all because of my wife) I tend to use Credit Cards quite often. Some of the Card I have been using are SBI Card, HSBC, KOTAK, etc. I always wanted to have an American Express
Card in my wallet. My wish came into existence in Jan, 2008. When I got a Gold Card from American Express.
Today I have upgraded to American Express Kingfisher First Credit Card (their entry level Platinum Card) and I must say what a Card it is. The Annual fees for this Card is INR 5000 while on joining you get 11000 Membership rewards points which you can redeem for many goodies like- Shopper’s Stop gift voucher, Kingfisher Airline Tickets etc. One has an option to get this card at a Lifetime fee of INR 25000.
Rewards: Here is what I get. American Express has tie-up with hundreds of partners who give you 10 times the regular Rewards Points. That means normally when you swipe and get 1 Reward Points, here you get 10 Rewards Points at places like- Levis, MakeMyTrip.com, Colorplus, Bose, airtel.in and all airtel outlets etc.
Customer Service: You talk about customer service and American express offers you the best one. You call up for a grievance redressal or a query and you are treated with a speciality. You will definitely feel better when someone gives you sucha respect.
Acceptability: I live in Delhi and found out their accetability in all A class outlets like - Shoppers Stop, Select City Walk, Westside, TGIF, Van Huesan, Louis Phillip etc. Their web presence is also fair with bookmyshow.com, airtel.in, irctc.co.in, makemytrip.com.
I would definitely want to have their Platinum Credit Card one day which has lifetime golf priviledges for the Card holder.
