The worst ever card i have used - that too becuase mine is a corporate card which i didnt have to choice but to accept. Biggest mistake ever - after 2 harrowing years dealing with them i got myself a personal
card from HSBC which i use on my business trips as well.
The service is simply terrible - the customer care reps are rude ( and mind you i am supposed to be a part of their esteemed" corporate customers - god help an entrepreneur who goes in for it)
The acceptability of Amex cards is unbelievably bad - popular airlines/ Airtel online site/ other e commerce websites/ indian railways/ shell petrol pumps ...just about everywhere you would want to use your credit card - doesnt accept amex !!
This is the biggest problem. I have had to shell out cash which defeats the purpose of having a credit card in the first place.
The charges are way too high - they slap a hefty late payment fee for even a delay of 3-4 days and their customer service reps are just unrelenting. Despite a great payment track record i was refused a cancellation of late payment charges when i was late by 4 days...thats way too rigid, i expect some flexibility for loyal & honest customers who are not out to cheat amex of their money
In short - dont even bother applying for one..lots of other options available.
