I still remember my childhood days, when I used to read these
Amar Chitra Katha comic books (along with others) for hours together, and enjoyed.
Every book and every story within used to
present a beautiful story, with colorful pictures... be it ramayana stories, panchatantra stories or some other character stories...
We had formed a group in our colony and used to exchange books to read them all, there were days when I had read more than 10 books in a day...
These books are great and for the benefit of others, I am listing down the goodies of amar chitra katha books
1. Good quality books, with sharp and colorful pictures.
2. Generally are taken from mythological stories and hence have moral associated
with them.
3. Are relatively cheap.
4. Allow kids to think, about whats good and whats wrong. Also to see that if you are bad, you have to pay for it ultimately.
5. Act as teacher and guide.
But todays generation, the kids are engrossed more on television than on comic books. This is a very bad sign, as these people only observe whats happening and rarely made think and use their minds...
Lets us all bring this reading culture back to our kids, so that they also enjoy... and when they grow older... can be proud of their childhood habbits, and hobbies....
