Its a revolution !. Review on Alpha TV - Marathi

The advent of Alpha Marathi on the horizon of our Cable TVs started a revolution and after 4 years this Revolution has completed a full circle offering the best of everything that a complete family channel can offer !

Sticking to the traditional marathi values of family entertainment, the channel has over the years graduated from simply being a channel showing old marathi movies to a more innovative channel offering round-the-clock variety entertainment and even hosting the ''Alpha-Gaurav'' awards to motivate and award the talent......

Speaking of talent, this channel has opened floodgates for the regional talent to flaunt their charizma onto the television screens. Marathi entertainment which was confined to a fewer names before Alpha Marathi came into picture boasts abundant of fresh blood now. It has also rejuvenated fortunes of a number of talented and forgotten people from marathi entertainment. This channel of Zee Group has definately given a good platform to a number of people to exploit their art and talent before the marathi audience.....

Speaking of the audience, this channel has commanded a large number of loyal audience from all the age groups. At the start, the viewership was restricted only to the oldies and the housewives. But the richness of its programming basket increased over years & it commanded viewership of all the age groups. The M Tv generation of today's era also waits for their fav programmes to be aired on the Alpha. Their programs appeals to all...

Speaking of their programs at last.... Its nearly a full circle for any entertainment channel. Right from offering daily (not K.... style stupid sops) sops , talk shows, hourly news , it goes beyond just entertainment and also try to depict the cultural values that we have. Last year, it also forayed into off-screen entertainment by organising the Marathi-Dandiya to show ''aapli boli..aapli bana''

Let me talk in depth of their programs :

Daily Sops: The famliy sops like Avantika, Abhalmaya, Jagawegli, Pimpalpan,Vadalwat will definately stand a crest above the sops aired on other hindi channels. This crest is definately because it stand by its attitude ''Aapli boli aapla bana''. This quoted sentence simply means that stick to your good culture and the values...but at the same do adopt to the goodness of foreign culture by suiting them to your morals.

Comedy Serials : A few serials like Shriyut Gangadhar Tipre are the milestones of the entertainment. Laugh of your daily life happenings. The newly started daily spoof ''Ghadlay Bighadlay'' regularly takes pot-shots at the indian politics and has been making waves since beginning.

For the young, by age and by heart : Programmes like ''Kya baat he'' are without the family drama but shows the enjoyable side of ur friends and social circle. The superb Jitendra Joshi takes you to every college in Maharashtra and Goa and catched the nerve of every college going student. For all the ones who love oomph and aah : It sometimes airs the advertisements of its sister concern Zee Tv's programmes ! He he he.

A few people may say that the sops get too boring and air excessive advertisements..but look at the commercial aspect of the channel and the producer. They are in the business and need to make money. So be liberal. Switch on the channels during advs. We do it all ! come on...

Alpha Marathi has also transcneded the TV serials world and airs one weekly program speaking only Marathi plays.
