I got a job offer from All for kids Mumbai as a part time teacher in Bangalore. I worked as a English Elocution, Speech &Drama teacher in couple of reputed schools that they are associated with such as Deens Academy and Gopalan International.
They initially promised me to pay 800 per school and we both agreed on terms that if the class is cancelled , I will not be paid anything. From the beginning they delayed in releasing the payment. They said they would reimburse the amount if the teacher pays for anything but I never received the payment. They never stick to one thing when it comes to salary. They ask you to change schools and reduce the pay because they gave more schools to you. There is no proper planning and no person to turn out in Bangalore. They manage everything from head office i.e. Mumbai and they expect to get teachers for the cheap salary and wants them to do the great job. They do not provide proper training to teachers and neither give clear information to parents on their curriculum. They hire teachers with zero teaching experience and send them to the school to teach the 'so called ' special curriculum they designed.
A day or two before the session, some one from Mumbai team calls and trains the teacher over the phone . This is the training that they provide to teachers and informs parents that their teachers are well trained and take excellent sessions. If parents complain anything about the quality of the teaching, they blame teachers for it. It was really a horrible experience to work with them.
Then one day, they send an email that my salary was reduced because they find that the teachers are being paid well for teaching . I decided to quit and informed the coordinator Priya from Mumbai that I would discontinue and then she never called me back to even find out why I wanted to resign or explain me the exit procedure. Finally, I gave a call 2 days prior to the next session to find out about the next step, instead she was very rude and said she does not have time to talk and wanted a formal email to be sent for resigning. Even after sending the formal email, there was no communication done either through email or phone about the notice period.
After a month, I haven't received the salary for the month of September and arrears of August. So when I emailed them, she replied saying that I haven't served the notice period and hence no salary will be paid. She also said that parents has lot of complaints about teaching and quality of teaching which was again a big lie because parents called me to find out why I have discontinued and also requested me to resolve the issues with them and rejoin. Also she wanted the books & bags to be their couriered to them.
It was evident that they made up their mind to not to pay salary and that's why they haven't communicated about notice period even after I emailed and called them. And again I never refused to serve the notice period but they haven't communicated with me. They think they can get away with out paying their teachers and THAT IS REASON for this review.
All potential teachers, be aware that they don't pay salary on time and neither pay anything if you decide to leave. So I suggest think twice before joining them. Also DEAR PARENTS, don't get fooled with their advertisements that you receive. They hire non teaching staff with good communication skills and leave them to teach your children to teach the curriculum.
I still did not receive the salary and I will keep you all updated if they decide to pay the salary after seeing the review.
