In the heart of Chennai city, on Nungambakkam High Road there is a new restaurant called AIWO - Food for life !!!!!!!!! It has a unique buffet system - one of its kind, perhaps the only one in India.
On
entering the restaurant, you could see a rectangular conveyor around which tables and chairs are placed. A polite waiter would come to you and would make you sit on one of the chairs. The ambience and interiors are just amazing!!! On the table you would find a leaflet mentioning what is AIWO all about. It basically serves a health food - mainly soy protein based food. The uniqueness of the food is that you dont feel drowzy or sleepy after consuming huge quantity of this unlimited food. A cucumber juice would be served to you to start with and then starts small bowls coming through the conveyor. You can lift anything you wish from the conveyor and eat it. The names of the dishes would come on the conveyor along with the dishes. None of these vegetarian dishes would have ever been heard in any part of this country - but extremely delicious. The amazing thing is that every bowl comes with exactly 40 calories (they weigh the food before putting it on the bowl). After tasting all the 15 dishes, you wouldn’t feel like having anything, your tummy would be filled.
And then you get up after having this huge quantity of food and WHAT???? You feel very light, energetic, dont even feel like you have eaten so much. The whole food is cooked in olive oil - the costliest oil available in the market - Rs.500 per litre. And the food includes exotic vegetables like brocolli, zucchini, baby corn, baby cabbage, tofu, barley, etc. And the whole lunch just for Rs.195!!!!!! The food is said to keep your sugar level balanced, meaning it does not fluctute after consuming this meal - one should check this out.
A nice and unique experience indeed.
