Airtel has coverage with worst quality network, I live near HSR, Bangalore(Harlur Rd, hardly 2 kms from ecospace, the IT capital) and experience no network in my apartment or frequent call drops… if I follow the phone to balcony and keep the phone in air… I will be able to make a call. Not but the least, it has worst customer service…. it has grown in size but the quality is just like street side, With Jio in town I think Airtel should revamp its Customer Service big time. Earning a new customer is impossible with the kind of the service they have, atleast they should be able to retain one. Airtel buddies if you are reading this post. “ A bird in had is worth 2 in bush”. I have taken a 4000/- international roaming pack for a month, and incurred 10000/- for 2 months. so their international roaming pack is absolutely useless. I would have just got the work done with paying 2000/- for a new sim and plan in Canada.
Airtel loots its customers with these plans as they don't have control or good ties with the partners in different countries. Whatever they charge by default they will be applied without any question and you have to pay. The plan looks good when you are taking from india, but once you go abroad you absolutely have no control over the charges. So prefer taking a local prepaid instead of airtel international roaming. So their International Roaming Plan is a failure.
And above all, its customer service works with no common sense. Airtel does a good job in picking people with no logical abilities. I spoke to couple of them and found this consistent. Its the downfall of Airtel in India. I heard it from few of my friends, but had experienced it now. I have been a customer for 10 years, have multiple connections and now I am changing one by one to other service provider.
