I was scheduled to fly from Ahmedabad to Newark on 10/16/07.  Got to Ahmedabad airport at midnight.  The information board outside the

terminal was changed shortly after to indicate a 2 hour delay.  OK so far.  Checked in, told my family to go home.  No announcement of any kind was made - at 5:30 am check-in clerks walked around and told us flight is cancelled - we could go to Bombay and wait for next day or go home.  After calling home, went to tell them our decision when we found out no - flight is not cancelled.  They are holding flight in Bombay for us - will get us to Bombay and from there flight will leave at 10:30.  Again the waiting starts.  Finally get on flight to Bombay at 9 - with assurances that luggage will be with us and that the flight is waiting for us in Bombay.  Get to Bombay and are told "Flight left" - what time did it leave?  aroung 7:30 - i.e. on schedule.  So why were we promised a waiting flight.  We could have spent the extra day home with family.  Bombay blamed Ahmedabad - but wait - don’t they all work for the same company?  Do these people know that?
