AirTel, like other cell phone Service Providers have all the glitterati including Sharukh Khan as Brand Ambassador. Their business is growing with territories extended.
Any such company, who profess
the highest level of professionalism, must be propelled by excellent service. This, I find, not only lacking, but also missing! Following small incident experienced by me, will vindicate my comment.
I happened to get AirTel mobile connectivity against the purchase of Samsung Air-conditioner under a scheme in the beginning of this year. After their first billing as a post paid billing system, I intended to opt for prepaid card, as I was hardly using this facility due to my existing BPL mobile connectivity.
I approached their Fort office in Mumbai and to utter surprise, counter sales personnel were not available even at 10 AM. This was not first time experience, but also on other few occasions I visited. In Mumbai , we are all stickler of time, which I believe, as the one of indications of professional commitments.
After paying money for prepaid card and conversion charge (strangely in cash, as was demanded), I was informed that my excess money for post billing account would be refunded through a cheque to me. Initially it was told after a month, then after three months and now that period has exceeded. Follow up is a big headache, right person is never available. So option is either personal visit or depute some one for this job.
The time and effort wasted, now I almost gave up. It is really a fallacy that such a company can boast of being customer friendly and timely service. Probably they are yet to learn what SERVICE is meant to be in terms of quality, time and action !
