I booked an Air India flight from Lucknow to Delhi last month. Since I had a poor experience with Indigo Airlines just few months back, I decided to go with the government supported airline this time. The experience with the Air India, however, was no different than with the Indigo airlines.
One of my friends( who was also travelling with me) had booked a child meal for her little son 14 days prior to the flight. However, when we boarded the plane, her kid was not delivered the meal in spite of the booking. Upon asking about this, the staff showed my friend the food manifestation form where there was no mention of her child's name. That too in spite of the fact that she had booked a full fare ticket for her kid.
The staff did not sport the best of behavior either. I asked for a cup of water and I was not delivered that. I had to ask for 4-5 times before an attendant resolved the issue. The food was not the best either. It was way too oily and lacked spices. We were not even offered any coffee in the flight. The restroom, though clean, smelled awful.
Even though the plane looked new, the seats were worn-out. When my friend decided to convert her seat into a bed, she found out a huge hole in the back. The plane's in-flight entertainment was not working at all, which was again a huge disappointment.
Overall, an average experience with this domestic airlines. The services were just about average and the level of comfort while traveling was below average.
