I read the book sometime back and though I still know the plot, I cannot exactly recall the names of the characters except the unimitable hercule poirot, the famous egg headed belgiun detective of agatha christie.
One old person dies and his children arrive at his funeral. Although almost nobody is sad on his death, the show off is rampant when one of his daughters ( A lady who was childlike innocent, went through a bad marriage, widowed and had a penchant of collecting roadsite worthless paintings) makes remarks about how he was murdered.
Well, nobody takes her seriously, when everybody knows her to be a little bit of idiot, until they find that she is herself murdered.
Then the usual witchhunt begins, the facades come off.
The unravelling of the mystery is although a little tame though delightful. Agatha christie's style is characteristically blabbering but cute. And typical agatha christie style. She likes to tickle the grey cells of the reader by providing clues but in the end only the reader understands this. I wont disclose the details, but read my review. It has a clue of the motive behind her murder.
happy reading!
