I was appraoched by the Club mahindra sales force and for a while was made to believe that their holiday was nothing but a yearly stint in heaven and for a while I believed.I was offered the membership for 2L and it seemed very lucrative.
So I used my calculator and my common sense.
If we invested this 2L in a decent fund which will at the most fetch 13%p.a we stand to gain 26,000/- per annum at the least.
Lets add the annual fee payable to CM which is Rs 7000/- .
That makes it Rs 33,000/-

I have been travelling since 8 years and to the best of my knowledgeI have found the following patterns:
1] Most travel for sight-seeing .
2] Many are concerned about how to get there.
3] Many would do with a decent and clean hotel stay..most have already been tipped off by their 
    freinds who have already been there, we hardly go about searching star graded hotels.
4] For many, travel also includes,getting to know the people,culture and the food they eat. eg:- If i am in Goa I would definitely try to taste the "feni" or "kababs" at Kakori, "paya" at Hyderabad,"daal-muth" at Agra,"chum-chum" at Kolkata,"gajag"at Gwallior ,"bharwa parathas" at Himachal,"chaat " at Delhi,"dhokla" at Ahmdabad etc etc..
5] Very few people have a primary target of staying at "such and such " resort....yes I have seen a few of such human beings who dont even go out of the resort for days together..

So when we are out with our back-packs I dont figure that a CM Holiday would be an ideal holiday because:
1] Travel only where CM has facilities.
2] Go only when accomodation is available.
3] Travel with a restricted group...no accomodating friends ,relatives etc..
4] Eat your own.
5] Travel on your own.
6] Sight-see on your own.

Above all do everything as usual but pay up Rs 33,000/-  (this figure may go up, as yearly fees  increase ) per year for a stay, which, if you are not a member, you may get even cheaper.
So I would safely conclude that for a hard-core traveller CM has nothing to offer.
Chubby,overweight ,uninterested business class wanting to have a pool side leisure may please apply.
