Mahindra (Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Limited) is part of Mahindra Group . Club Mahindra primarily owns about 25 resorts across India and upon enrolling for a 25 year membership, you’re promised a vacation of 7 days every year, till next 25 years.

Membership cost depends on factors like Room type and season. Last year they had about 750 rooms for a member base of 60k and recently they’ve acquired lots of properties and are aiming to double their inventory. The company is also planning to go public with an IPO, to raise funds for purchase of additional properties.

          

While their membership scheme looks attractive and most of their resorts are world class (I’ve personally visited their Coorg, Binsar and Naukuchiatal resorts-the first two are really good and the third one was a recently acquired one-renovation and landscaping was in progress when we visited), the concern many people have is that they are not able to book rooms, despite planning few months in advance. This problem appears to be partially due to disproportionate member base compared to inventory level, and uneven demand for certain resorts during certain seasons...
