I had opted for Club Mahindra Blue membership for studio apartment in dec, 05.
I was asked to pay a non refundable membership fee of Rs. 14,500/- which i paid using my credit card. And rest of the package
i opted as a monthly emi of Rs. 2797.
I also got a gift voucher for 2n/3days stay at Club Mahindra properties. I was warned by lot of my friends not to go for this membership as it was always difficult to get a booking in advance.
I somehow decide not to follow their advice (my mistake!) and went ahead with the membership.
After paying 3 EMIs i decided to avail the gift voucher and then i got my first experience of their horrible customer service. Even after telling that i was an existing customer, i didnt get any booking . I shared this my friend who was already a club mahindra member and he updated that , this is the usual service level offered by Club Mah.
I decided to get my membership cancelled and i was ok to let my 14,500 go keeping in mind that i will be able to save my rest of the money.
I called in april 1st week and they gave me a shock that they will not refund my EMIs.
But i proceeded and gave them a cancellation request by Fax is 1st week April,06.
I was still charged EMI for april for which they refused to refund.
From april i have been repeatedly calling their call center but without any result. But the EMIs stop getting charged to my credit card.
Now one fine day in August,06 1st week , i again see an EMI charged against my card. When i called them, they said the membership is not cancelled yet. But when they checked internally they did found that it was already cancelled. They confirmed that they will refund me the money in a week.
Its now Oct,06 and i have been regularly following those guys with out any luck. i am planning to approach consumer court in this case.
My recommendation : Better put your spare money in charity then in buying Club Mahindra MembershipRegards
