Pathetic service & quality of car

This is to bring to your notice the pathetic service we are getting from Hyundai authorised service centers.
This is also to express our displeasure at the quality of the products, especially Hyundai
Accent GLE model.

We purchased a Hyundai Accent GLE in the month of October 2004 from Advaith Motors, Bangalore. At the time of purchase itself we faced a lot of inconvenience with the indifferent attitude of one of the Sales executives of the above said dealer. A mail had been sent to this effect to the Hyundai customer care center and the dealer. Despite this unsavoury experience at the very beginning, we preferred a Hyundai product with the hope that we will get a better service and a quality product. But our bitter experiences with their authorised servicing centers (Advaith Servicing centers, Mission Road and WhiteField Road) and the performance of the car proved us it’s just faux.

The car is just one and half years old and hardly done 9,300 KMs. With in this short span of time we had faced lot of problems with the car and the servicing centers. A detailed list of problems has been furnished here.

1. Problem : The car had developed a rattling sound in the steering panel during the period between second and third free services. Though it was a small problem, it should not have occurred at such an early stage of car’s life cycle
    Kind of service we got : We had to visit the service center TWICE for the same problem.
2. Problem : The car underwent a body repair at the same time. The bumper of a lorry brushed the left side of the car and both the doors on that side had dents (front and rear portions of the car were untouched). The body repair was done by Advaith Servicing Center, Mission Road. From then onwards the left side windows and doors started giving rattling sounds. These sounds are not observed with the right side doors and windows.
    Kind of service we got : We had to visit the service center FOUR TIMES for the same problem. The car has been given for the servicing yesterday (09 MAY 2006) to attend to the same problem for the fourth time.
3. Problem : We gave the car for the first paid servicing on 15 th April 2006 to Advaith Servicing Center, WhiteField Road. The A/C unit was working all right at the time we gave the car for servicing. The problems reported for this servicing were rattling of left side doors and windows, rear speakers touching the backside glass (please see the problem 4 for details), etc.
    Kind of service we got : The A/C unit which was working fine before the servicing did not work at all after servicing. I could realise this only on 07th of this month as I did not use the A/C till then after the servicing. Even if I had used it, it should not give any problem considering that it was used very sparingly - We might have used it for a total mileage of 3000 to 3500 KMs as the car itself had put up only 9,300 Kms.
                                      The rattling of windows and doors did not cease.
                                      Can you imagine the solution given to the problem of rear speakers touching the backside glass??? - They just put some foam in between the speakers and glass!!!. When we enquired why this kind of shoddy arrangement has been done, thay coolly told that their center did not have the facilities to adjust the speakers. We wonder what on the earth stopped them from telling this at the time of problem reporting.
4. Problem : Rear speakers of the audio system were fitted by the Mission Road Servicing Center. They fitted them awkwardly so close to the rear glass that even a small bump/shake causes the speakers to touch the rear glass. This has caused small scratches on the rear glass.
    Kind of service we got : When this problem was reported to the White Field Road Servicing center, instead of correcting the alignment of speakers they just put some foam cushioning in between the speakers and rear glass. Later when we went to collect the vehicle, they coolly told that their servicing center did not have facilities to adjust the speakers. We come to the servicing center NOT for such awkward and grotesque solutions.

We give the vehicle for servicing with the hope of getting it back in a better shape and condition. But ironically, we are getting it back in a worse condition due to the lackadaisical service provided by these servicing centers. And we are planning to sell off this car before we get totally sick of this kind of service.

We appeal to all not to get their vehicles serviced at these servicing centers.

I got my car back from Advaith servicing center, White Field after three days - WITH A SCRATCH ON REAR BUMPER. Hell with these servicing centers.
