There are many reviews listed under this laptop, but some are for variants, like the gaming one. Keep in mind the different a proper graphics card can make.

With that cleared up, let's move one.

I used this laptop for a long time, and grew very fond of it despite all problems.

Pros:

In my opinion, Acer has or rather, had the best keyboard on a budget laptop, and the best touch pad. I am currently typing on a Dell, and this is not close to the soft and smooth experience that laptop gave me.

It's screen also had a pretty good technology, that made it look very vivid, compared to this one.

It had many buttons to improve functionality, like volume, power mode switch, back up, etc.

A blue cover made it look very sexy.

Cons

It came pre-installed with Vista! It was very laggy after a year, and the processor really struggled. I am sure Win7 would have been very smooth on the T6400, at 2Ghz

3gb was good for those times, but again, with vista, 1.5gb went to the OS.I had the habit of multi-tabs and simultaneous programs running in the background, and this caused it to slow down.

Acer under priced the others, so there were build quality issues. A wire in the screen kept coming out loose, and I must have visited the service centre 3-4 times to continuously fix it. It was worse that the service centre shifted without the site giving details as to where.

Finally, the cyber cafe guys fixed it.

Over heating was always an issue. After 3 years, it became so bad that the laptop auto shutdown at 95C.

But the most fragile part of a laptop, the hard disk, NEVER EVER gave a problem. I had read that the hard disk is usually the first to give way, as it is a moving part and undergoes a lot of wear and tear, along with re-writes. Perhaps the outsourced manufacturer had not cut corners?

A good screen and volume buttons made it an ideal film view device, and after a reset, it did run smoothly for a while.

Overall, it was a decent buy, if I forget the hassle to go the service centre, especially after warranty.
