I have decided to purchase an inverter at my home located at Marathahalli area. I did some reach online and found that APC is one of the best inverter and I decided to buy APC inverter. you can see a number of APC posters all around Bangalore recently.
I started searching for the prices for the APC inverter and I found a good deal from the website https://apcindia.co.in/ where they are selling the inverter+ battery+ Trolley for 14, 750/-. I went ahead and shown my interest by filling the details online in purchasing the product. I got an SMS immediately from APC India as mentioned below and also an email with the catalogue.
“ http://www.apcindia.co.in. APC Home Lighting UPS System offers. Rs.BI850SINE(850va-500watts) Rs. 14, 750/-(Inverter 850va Unit, 130ah VIA tubular battery, Export Trolly-Inclusive of Taxes) 3 years guarantee. for order booking & supply. Call 9844057472. Sms name, tel no, address for invoice. Or order online at https://bi850sine.com - COD or(Cred824it card 2%extra)”.
I Got a follow-up call, to send the address by SMS to the same no 9844057472 and I did the same. The product was delivered on the same day night at 7 PM and they have collected an amount of 14, 750/- . Got another SMS providing the installation staff name and no as Mr. Kumar & 9844753929 and they charged an additional amount for installation.
Within less than one month it started giving troubles but it took near to 3 months to test that and we got to a confirmation that the inverter was not working properly and not giving proper backup during the power cuts. The same complaint has been raised to the APC India by writing an official email @ info@apcindia.co.in which was provided in the invoice copy. The mail got bounced without able to deliver to this address.
Then I tried to reach on the mobile no provided 9844057472 and explained him the situation, he said he will get it examined ASAP. After that I tried to follow-up on the same no, then the receiver of this no started rejecting the phone calls from my no. I tried reaching him from different no after one week and then he responded to the call as that no may not have been stored and he confirmed that he will send the engineer immediately, and the same story from the another no and he started rejecting the calls.
After couple of days I did more research and tried to reach the board no provided on the https://apc.com/home/in/en/ website, and have raised a complaint on the inverter. To my surprise the APC engineer confirmed that the battery provided is not from APC and even the website with the name of https://apcindia.co.in. and https://bi850sine.com does not belongs to APC company and they can’t provide any support on this product. Came to know that this VIA battery is self made. The brand names for batteries will keep on changing.
I feel this is an open cheating and a cyber-crime using the APC name and running a parallel website by selling some other products along with those. This can be registered as a cheating case or as a cyber-crime?.
Please be aware before you get into trap.
