I read Patrick’s first book and was not much fan of his writing. His book A monster Calls is poles apart from his previous books. It is grey, dark, nail biting and sad but every emotion is kept intact with beautiful writing and narration by Patrick. I thought to just read the book and if I do not like the beginning, I would leave the book.
Then, I was on the same chair with same novel after 3 hours crying my heart out. The core of the story is the touchy metaphor described. The book is not predictable at all and I could feel and connect myself to this haunted story full of grief.
