Bangalore road getting busier day by day and only solace to stay in our senses is multiple FM channels. Very soon I need to change my Music system which is offering me only 8 channels
at present. I already have tuned in 8 and hope there are no new channels which might be irresistible.I am an ardent listener of 91 FM and Radio Mirchi, Bangalore. True to any human, I tend to be judgemental as to which one offers better air time quality and more information. I somehow cannot turn my loyalty from 91 FM which was the first FM station in Bangalore to Radio Mirchi. No doubt Radio Mirchi RJs are doing extremely good job but they seem to run out of idea over the days. Unlike 91 FM which has latest updates on traffic situation, talks with famous personalities across societies and fields and sensible discussions between the RJs on the show, Radio mirchi lacks all these.
Personally I feel these stations should take responsibility in educating the masses on a lighter note- invite famous personalities on the air and take questions through telephonic calls- it can be a mayor or the local MLA or even ministers. People reach out faster through media than any other form of communication. The issues can be about infrastructure, about traffic management, about politics or even sports. There is a nice show on 91 where little ones are called upon every Thursday morning and Vasanti is doing a fantastic job.
I only wish I get to hear more music, more talk shows than listen to commercials for 120 seconds every 10 minutes. I am hoping for a more interactive channel in the very near future, offering all kinds of music from old classics to the latest ones on air.
