We had heard a lot about this place and me n my husband wanted to check out some authentic Bengali meal. We tried out the lunch buffet laid during the weekdays. Contrary to all the hype , we found the food very average. Firstly the spread is very very limited, only 1 veg (some drab aloo kumro) n 1 non veg dish(dripping with oil) with 1 non veg snack. Even the smaller restaurants (Cinnamon on CMH Rd) have much better spread. Also it was quite a drab that there was no fish curry which should be one of the staple things amongst bengali buffet.Another downer was that the food was very oily.
The chicken had nearly no taste and oil was more than the spices/gravy.Gulab jamoon was surely 2 day's old with dalda layering clearly visible on top. Only good thing was the aamer chutney. Also for such an average and limited spread, its too much priced. They are clearly spoiling Bengali khabar's name..even the other smaller Bengali restaurants are better. Probably the owners should go n have buffet at Angeethi/ Aromas of China etc to learn what is good cuisine.
