I had contacted Just Dial on 12/02/11, over phone, to get the contact number and the address for 6, Ballygunge Place Restaurant at Indiranagar / Bangalore. With the informative message, Just Dial had confirmed that I will get a 15% discount on any CitiBank Card used at the above mentioned restaurant. I contacted the restaurant and the person attending my call gives me the same information. I booked a table for 3 for 13/02/11 afternoon lunch. Yesterday, 13/02/11, I went to the restaurant and after we finished eating, I gave my CitiBank Card for swipe and payment. When the bill came, I saw that I was not given the 15% discount on the total bill amount. The total amount of the bill was Rs.1, 564=00 and 15% on that is Rs.234=60.
I met the manager of the restaurant and he argued with me for half an hour telling that, it was my fault of not telling the waiter that I’ll pay my bill by CitiBank Card. I even asked for a cash refund. He quoted that refunding Rs.234=60 are not possible as that will go from his own pocket. When the Card can easily be identified as CitiBank Card why the discount was not provided? Also, if I was to tell that I am going to pay by CitiBank Card before handing over the Card for payment, why the same information was not provided me when I called and booked the table?
Is the restaurant managed by people who can not read or write and who can not distinguish a CITIBANK Card or people who know very well how to fool people like us, who trusts the brand name and then gets duped?!!
