For truth is always strange, stranger than fiction

By: gaurav_ | Feb 13, 2006 01:02 AM
Choosing five books from the plethora of titles in English available worldwide was the most.......
I am going to take 5 fiction titles which I like most and recommend them.
Someone is rightly
said ’’The reason that fiction is more interesting than any other form of literature, to those who really like to study people, is that in fiction the author can really tell the truth without humiliating himself.”
1. The alchemist : A magical Fable about following your dreams. Paulo Coelho may not be the best writer present but neither he is lesser than that. The plot of the alchemist revolves around a small boy Santiago. Who is in search of a treasure and his dreams, finds out the reality of life and all the philosophy which a saint tries his whole life to know. It was published way back in 1988.
From the book : ’’There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.’’ (The Old King)’’

2. Da Vinci Code : Combining the detective, thriller and conspiracy theory genres, Dan brown is successful with Da Vinci Code. It is said to be the sequel of his prior novel Angels and Demons. This novel was published back in 2003 and has generated lot of criticism and dizzy around. A movie is also in the pipeline based on the novel.
From the book : ’’Fact: (...) All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals in this novel are accurate.’’

3. God of small things : it is a semi-autobiographical novel by the social activist and author Arundhati Roy. Roy’s novel was published 1996, quickly became a best-seller, and won the prestigious Booker Prize in October, 1997. Its plot revolves around the story of two sisters in the small place Aymanam (called ’’Ayemenem’’ in the novel). It contains how small things appear in our lives and become a part of it.
From the book : ’’however, for practical purposes, in a hopelessly practical world . . .

4. The Time Machine : imagine of time traveling way back in 1895 was itself a gr8 attempt. It’s a H. G. Wells novel. It deals about time traveling.
Now it’s available free of cost on every famous e - book website.
From the book : Soon after his arrival he rescues Weena, a female Eloi he finds drowning in a river. Much to his surprise she is grateful to him and insists on following him.’’

5. : God Father : a Mario Puzo classic mafia novel was published in the year 1963. It deals with the story of a fictitious Italian Mafia family headed by Don Vito Corleone.
From the Book: ’’I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse.’’ -Vito Corleone

There are many others to name here but as it’s the story of only five.
