1920 - Horrific Experience. Review on 1920

God knows why I walk in to watch Bollywood trials on Horror movies. Unlike others like Phoonk, this movie had many instances where you could get a chill running thru your veins. There is a plain and simpe plot of a rebirth and revenge of a lover (calling him a lover does not justify but that is how it has been portrayed).

There is this guy in 1857 revolt, who betrays his platoon (indian freedom fighters) and takes a hide in the house of the Head of the platoon. Platoon Leader had a daughter who comes to know about the deeds of this bad guy and she gives her maryaada away to stop him from running away from there. Now, the Platoon leader, father of the girl comes and gives him a Hang from the ceiling.

Well this does not obviously please this bad guy, and he pledges that he will come back to take revenge from the girl. Aur tab ka din tha (1857) and ab ka din hai (1920) that he had been killing anyone who comes to destroy that house or havelli to construct a hotel. As you would understand, bhoot of the bad guy does not obviously like the idea of converting it to a hotel as he would have his fond memories with the old havelli :).

Now, this rebirth happens and the lady finally arrives in that havelli, with her hubby. Her hubby is an architect and he has also come to convert this havelli into a Hotel. Now, this bhoot starts making strange noises as every bhoot does in all the bhootiya movies to scare the hell outta audience. But, you will see ppl laughing rater than getting scared many a times he tries to send the chill into them. There are many parts which light up the atmosphere and you feel like ... cool I am atleast getting half of the money back with this... Bonus is that it has 2 breaks rather then a conventional one. Well one of them is conventional but the other is the infamous song ..... BICHUA.

People made use of this song and finished up their essential tasks... was this song required.... well yes if u need 2 breaks ...There is a controversy however that why is this bhoot not scared of the FATHER and why does he get scared from the Hanuman... I tried to find an answer and I would sy that.... jaise LOHE ko LOHA kaat ta hai... nahin samjhe... arey BHOOT is illiterate ...

And he does not know English... No offence to any religion :) .... So, this is how the movie gets served in front of you... Background score is bearable... cast is all fine... script is not that solid... but that is okay... we are used to it now... Climax ... the script writer made the fun out of it... just wonder whether he actually watched it after getting finished... actors do the justice to their roles... overall ..There are thefts from the hollywood movies be it make up or sequences (like strange body positions & eating flesh). .. But, if I am sooo getting bored and want to watch a horror flick... I would not want to watch the climax of it... otherwise the movie is okayisssssh.... 2.1 / 5
