No matter how bigger or better horror movie you’ve seen, if you missed 1408, than you have definitely missed a lot. Its not that 1408 is the scariest movie ever, or the biggest horror movie ever,
it will chill you out but their are other which are scarier than 1408, but their is something in 1408 which makes it to stand out of others which is
First: Mike Enslin’s(John Cusack) presence, and his brilliant acting.
Second : The plot, it chillzzzz you out when the clock restarts again...

Mike Enslin, the cynical writer writes books evaluatingsupernatural phenomena in hotels, graveyards and haunted places, usually exposing the mystery. While writing his last book, he travelsfrom Los Angeles to New York to spend one night in the evil room 1408of the Dolphin Hotel when he recieves the Post Card from one of his fan reading, "Don’t stay in 1408".

Room 1408 is permanently unavailable for guests. Thereluctant manager Mr. Olin objects to his request and offers anupgrade, free stay, and even an expensive booze and finally the reports relating the death ofmore than fifty guests along decades in that cursed room. However, Mikethreatens Mr. Oiln, promising to sue the hotel, and finally checks inthe room. Along the night, Mike goes through the weirdest minutes of his life, as soon after he enters the room, table clock starts countdown of 60:00 minutes and than Mike realises that their is something wierd and strange with 1408, but as he is a horror writer, he thinks that this might be a goof on a TV show, or a spy show from one of those who were against his writing, Mr. Olin was the one he thinks who might be doing this all with Enslin in that room, but soon, mike realises that it is some super natural phenomenon and not a sting, and than he finds that guests of room 1408 can checkout when they like, but they can never leave the room Alive...

They can relive those 60 minutes over and over again but can not escape the room, or the other option they had is checking out( hang themselves) but they can’t go out the evil f*****g room

In the end, i would like to tell you guys that 1408 has two climax’s, one is the Director’s cut and other is the dvd version, i won’t reveal what happens in the 2 endings, Do watch both of them, as both of them make you feel whole more different than the other, and this is what 1408 is all about.

This reason why 1408 reached number 1 spot @ imdb.com when it released, it is definetly unique.
