BC - Development of Agriculture 4,000 BC - First use of Metals 1,700 BC - Construction of Egyptian Pyramids Well .. that’s what our history text books say… but in 10,000 BC, we see weapons made of metals, people cultivating crops and even Pyramid like structures being constructed !! The director might be pardoned for using English as the medium of communication in those ages but depicting all the above mentioned as happening in 10,000 BC is taking too much liberty! And my my.. people with French Beards and Clean Shaves !! Outrageous !! Only things missing were may be guns and mobile phones!

If one ignores the historical aspects and involves oneself in the movie, one can very well enjoy it. There are wild creatures like the Mammoths, Sabre-Toothed Wildcats etc which are a visual treat to the eyes.

But the hardships in those days don’t come out very well. A lot of Hollywood Masala has been added which seemed quite artificial. D’Leh finds himself confronting these wild beasts and overpowering them. His woman gets captured by mysterious tribe and there starts his journey gathering troops on the way to defeat the mysterious tribe who are much advanced in civilization and technology as compared to his own. On the whole, you can watch the movie if you like action sequences of Jurrassic Park kinds, and fights between pre-historic tribes. Else, you will get very bored.
