The 100ft Boutique Restaurant opened approximately 4 years ago, and has religiously maintained their standards.

Located on a busy main road (5 mins from my place), in a semi-remodeled
bungalow. It houses a boutique that sells apparel wear, home furnishings, linen (bed & bath), kitchen accessories for fine wining & dining and lots of other so called ?knick knacks?, which when you visit the place, will realize is the wrong word since a lot of these ?knick knacks? that include scented candles place mats, curtain holders etc?are way above Rs. 500 when bought in sets. It?s unnecessary to mention that one place mat would be lost without it?s other 5.

The linen and the home furnishings sold are sourced from many outlets, created by designers and priced accordingly. In qualities such as silk, cotton and blends, they have traditional collections with dominant Indian themes as well as smaller collections that are more European in colour and design. (I would know so, since I?m a textile designer with an export house.) In addition to this, they also encourage young designers (textile, fashion, furniture, craft) to showcase their talents in the form of themed collections as a portion of their floor space, which stands alongside their own merchandise, for a particular time period.

Coming to the most appealing aspect of this boutique, is the restaurant housed on the ground floor and continuing up into the loggia. It serves some very refreshing cocktails and mocktails, a great minestrone soup and white sauce dishes (veg & non veg) besides the rest of the cuisine. One can sacrifice the appetizers (and in some cases the main course), to get to the desserts.

They serve a divine Caramel Custard, Tiramisu and hot Chocolate Brownie, (not together). The ambience is peaceful inspite of being bang on the main road, the service is gracious, knowledgeable and efficient, and is visited by a bevy of celebrities- not the page 3 variety.

Infact I once dined with Rahul Dravid, albeit on adjacent tables. It?s perfect for a relaxed night out, with music such as Eagles, Bryan Adams and Country.

Prices are on the higher side, as compared to the very not-put-together sort of environment that the restaurant area has. An average meal for two with drinks, appetizers, the main course and desserts would be on an average, approximately Rs.2000 upwards.

This place is worth it if

a). You love your food
b). Are willing to experiment
c). You don?t have a weight problem
d). Are the discreet sort
e). & you carry plastic.

PS: Best when visiting for dinner, and plz comment!
