On Friday, the 14th of April, Aamir visited Delhi and voiced his support for Medha Patkar and the activists of the Narmada Bachao Andolan. He stated that he did not want to comment on the political aspects of this issue as he is unaware of the details. All he wants is that the villagers who are displaced by the building of the dam should be compensated. Immediately after this, BJP activists stopped screenings of Rang De Basanti, vandalised the theatre and burned posters of Aamir. What are they protesting?

Are they against his belief that farmers who give up their land should be compensated for it? These are the leaders, the politicians of India who are supposed to better the conditions they live in. Let the Aamir show them that people are tired of sitting quietly while their goons terrorise and bully the poor. Make them accountable for their actions. Support Aamir. Stand up for the poor, and be the voice of those who have not been heard.

This is Tremendous, as known by the world Aamir is man of words. He signed Rang De Basanti because it carried a strong message with it. Today he is proving it to the world by himself being a part of the Narmada Bachao Andolan and supporting Bhopal gas leak victims. Truly he believes in what work he does. He is a perfectionist, not bothered about media coverage or the heat in Delhi.

Government will now give some importance to these people who are fighting for their rights since years. This reminds of Bhagat Singh as well when had to blast a bomb in the assembly court so that their voice can be heard throughout the country. Keep it up. And I think we all should learn something from this. Even an Individual can make a difference. My respect for Aamir rise further for his initiative for Narmada Bachao Andolan.

He supported the rehabilitation of displaced farmers but did not object to building the dam. I feel the Gujarat. Govt is hyping it more as Modi and Aamir does not like each other. Aamir as a citizen has full right to support or express his views on any national matter, so do we. It has nothing to do with banning of his movies. I really can’t understand why they are against Aamir all of a sudden.

Since NBA is for so many yrs and the hunger strike was going for many days but all of a sudden after coming of Aamir everything so much intensified. It’s surely politics and vested interests to defame Aamir Khan. I seriously don’t understand what had NBA or Bhopal gas leak to do with burning posters or adopting a means to violence to show anger?

Why to stop screening of Rang De Basanti? What has it to do with the DAM or Gas leak? Infact even while the Andolan he mentioned the movies has a message that youth should awaken and not through violence. People in RDB don’t get anything when they adopt violence. Infact they do pass on the message but for themselves they earn nothing.

They end their life there. He is not opposing building of the DAM; he wants proper rehabilitation for people who are giving their land for this. If Govt knows that this project will benefit people and will generate revenues, by minimising the expenses, then they should also consider sharing the benefit with the people who are to be rehabilited.

Not only providing equal amount of land but also giving them some share in the benefits which Govt is expecting. Suddenly what has Rang De Basanti done wrong? Till yesterday people who burnt effigies and posters liked the movie and today they oppose. They are serious losers and India will never develop because of people like these.

Why to take away a right of an individual who wants to see and enjoy the Movie? If you have issues go to Delhi and protest against Aamir but don’t do silly things like burning posters and effigies somebody is investing in all these things and they are losing remember a poster burnt will increase publicity of Aamir. But somebody who was bearing the cost of that poster is losing also a common man like me would like to enjoy the movie and not be a part of such protest.

Anyways these people are doing good for Aamir his movie is become popular and the Andolan has now at least picked up to an extent where MR CM has to be on 51 hrs fast. I for one would like to appreciate Aamir's support. What I failed to understand was the reaction of both Roy and Medha Patkar. It was appearing as if they were afraid to loose the lime light to Aamir. Rather than welcoming the support,

Aamir; s credentials were questioned. Does one need to be hermit to support NBA? Is his endorsing coke hurting NBA? An Actor likes Aamir Khan doesn’t\'t need publicity stunts. He is well known all over the Country and even internationally. Tell me the name of someone from any background that is as famous as Aamir Khan. Whatever he takes or makes, it will be for a cause. He is better known than Modi, Medha Patkar.

He has done enough of movies and now with the release of the film Rang De Basanti, he seems to realise his responsibility of a Citizen and a Celebrity and standing up for a cause! I do not think that the act by Aamir Khan was a mere publicity stunt. An actor of the stature of Aamir Khan hardly needs any publicity. Moreover, he is averse to publicity and he has proven that by boycotting awards ceremony.

He is truly and deeply concerned about the sad plight of the citizens who need rehabilitation due to construction of dam. Even his films, Lagaan, Sarfarosh, Mangal Pandey and recently Rang De Basanti, all tend to give social message to their viewers. I believe Aamir Khan is truly concerned about the rehabilitation of the farmers. All the Gujarati’s should appreciate what Aamir is doing for the poor people instead of playing the usual dirty politics. Keep it up Aamir.

Aamir Khan great actor, I am sure, according to my speculation he will be next big thing in India with his sheer Power, No one even think of even matching with him and Aamir is the highest paid actor in Bollywood. He will have great influence on Indian Society for at least coming 25 to 27 years. He is capable of things, which Indians can't even imagine.

Narmada protest is just a small beginning. Next 2 and half decade belongs to him. Aamir has proved that he is not only a reel hero but a Hero in real life as well, by standing in support for the cause of needy and homeless people. He has shown lots of guts and conviction is his support.

He has provided an example to every renowned personality like him to stand for a cause for the welfare of people without any self-motive. Well done Aamir! You have won million more hearts with your effort. Kudos to Aamir and Megha Patekar and NBA Team. Yes we need people like Aamir in social issues. Aamir Khan is such a star who gives a damn to media, so his support to this issue cannot be a publicity stunt.

I do believe, whatever he is doing, he is doing for the good of the people. He is no SRK who along with 2 other stars donated only 1 crore just to get some cheap publicity. Aamir our support is there with you. Go Ahead! It's great to see some sensitive actors like Aamir & Atul Kulkarni are supporting NBA. It' duty of governments to rehabilitate those displaced before going to increase of dam height.

As far as Aamir & Atul is concern; celebrities supporting to noble cause will make masses think of the problem at least. Aamir's support to NBA was indeed an inspiring act. I say even other celebrities should follow the path if required. There are many cases where government is ignoring common man's problems. Most of the times when human activists carry out there struggle, hoping for a change in the society.
