Goldy, the owner of Goldilocks’ Catering becomes embroiled in yet another mystery when she caters a cosmetic company banquet. Mignon Cosmetic companies animal-testing policies have become a target of ’’Spare the Hares’’, a very vocal animal rights group. As Goldy is carrying in her fare she hears the squeal of tires and a thump.

Goldy doesn’t believe in letting the police do their work by themselves so she finds herself involved in finding out who killed Claire Satterfield, Mignon’s best salesperson and girlfriend of Julian, Goldy’s assistant. Goldy finds herself enmeshed in the world of cosmetics, something she hasn’t bothered with since her divorce from ’’the jerk’’.

When another death occurs, Goldy knows she must find out who the killer is before she becomes the next casualty.

Not only is this a well-written mystery, but also for those who like to cook, there are some wonderful recipes included such as killer pancakes and Grand Marnier Cranberry Muffins.
