This film produced by mehmood, is perhaps one of the best performances by Mehmood.A class comedian of that era, a man who apparently gave the heros, a run for their money.
THis film is a showcase of the comic talents of Mehmood as well as Kishore kumar, both of whom who went berserk in this movie.
The story about a simpleton Bhola, played magnificently by Sunil Dutt who falls for a girl Bindu (saira banu), who in turn is also pursued, by her dance master Masterji (a simply superb mehmood).
In order to woo his beloved, Bhola enlists the aid of his friend Kishore Kumar, who is a singer and has his own drama troupe. KK acts as Bhola’s voice, when he pretends to woo bindu by singing songs of love.
The comic sequences are truly great, and the film is laced with some great music by Roshan. The film is truly a gr8 one with gr8 soundtracks. The song ’Pyari Bindu’ is supposedly penned by none other than mehmood himself in about 20 mins.That was one fun song for sure.
The duet ’chatur anar’ is oh so popular even today.It was made more memorable by mehmood and his superb rendering of a south indian dance master.
From the beginning to the end , it was a laugh riot, a film for me, which can be seen and enjoyed infinitely.
This film has to be seen and enjoyed.
