This is one review which I am not proud to write but I had to share my opinion.Remember people the players are not bad by any chance,their only fault being they chose the wrong game to showcase their talents.They would have been better off playing something other than cricket and saving themselves from embarassment.To be fair maybe some of them did not get enough time to perform to their ability.I repeat once again that this is just an opinion and not the final word on the players calibres.Here goes though not neccessarily in order of demerit:
1)Hrishikesh Kanitkar:This guy was really lucky with that 4 which he hit in that Dhaka Cup final.(Its another story that he tried to hit it on the off side and the ball ended up on the leg side).Thanks to that boundary he managed to stick to the team for a year I think ,with a string of really mediocre performances before the selectors saw sense and finally said Adios to him.
2)Vikram Rathore:Only the selectors’desperation for an opener saw the ’Punjab da Puttar’in the team for a couple of years.He had the right formula to remain in the team(Perform in the last innings of the last match of a 5 match series).But the selectors finally saw through the paln and axed him.Last heard he had turned to wicket-keeping to get into the team.
3)David Johnson:Wish he had the direction along with the speed.He was genuinely fast but had stump-blindness.He splayed the ball everywhere.Reached the team because at that time Venkatesh Prasad was regarded as a fast bowler and anybody faster than him was taken hence Johnson.
4)M.S.K. Prasad:One of the worst wicketkeeper batsman that I have ever seen.I dont think he would have made to my school team.
5)Harvinder Singh:Harvinder Singh who?
