As Im sure youve noticed, Im an incredibly busy person. I barely have time to sleep or eat, let alone watch my favorite soap operas. (
Days of Our Lives is my favorite, in case
youre interested.) Sure, I can look everything I need to know on the internet, but why should I put forth all that time and effort for something I can find in a little magazine at the grocery check out for a mere $2.49?
Soap Opera Digest keeps me informed about every soap opera I want to find about, and even those I dont watch. Every issue keeps a little synopsis of each weeks episodes and the coming events. If you dont like spoilers, perhaps this isnt the sections for you to read.
You can also find up close and personal interviews with your favorite soap stars. Each issue is ended with
Take Five, where a soap star is asked five candid questions. Its a really cute touch that lets the readers get to know their favorite soap opera actors and actresses. Theres also a section called
Round Up where a bunch of actors and actresses answer the same question. Their pictures are put next to their answers.
Of course,
Soap Opera Digest has its own gossip area. This is where you can read all about the behind-closed-doors scandals that are occurring on the soap opera sets, as well as the gossip from the real lives of the actors and actresses.
Soap Opera Digest has been accused of being biased towards
NBC soaps, but I certainly cant see it. Plus, every year,
Soap Opera Digest holds the
Soap Opera Awards. Since there are only two major soap operas on
NBC, it seems that
Soap Opera Digest wont be accused of that any longer.
Overall, I enjoy reading
Soap Opera Digest. Do I recommend it? Only if youre a huge soap fan, or want to keep up-to-date on the soaps that youve missed.
