I decided I wanted to look like the Ladies in the movie Chicago. I dropped by the Hudson Bay Store to buy an Estee Lauder red lipstick.

Oh my goodness I didn’t know that they had so many shades of red in four types of lipstick!

I tried on the Pure Colour, Go Pout, Futurist and the Sumptuous Lipsticks. I decide that I liked the feeling of the Sumptuous Lipstick the best.

There were three colours of red to choose from, (Passionate, Opulent and Rubie). The Lady at the Make-up Counter used the test tubes and put a streak of each of the colours on the top of my hand.

I’m a bit picky when I am going to spend $18.50 CAD for a lipstick so I told her I was going outside to see if the colours changed in the sunlight. They didn’t!

I decided that I would buy the Opulent Red. It is the same colour that wore in Chicago.

It came in a Gold cardboard box that had Estee Lauder printed on it. The Formula was printed in English and French.

When I opened the box I took out wide golden lipstick case that has ribs up and down both the top and bottom of the case. The raised EDL logo is on the flat top of the lipstick.

When I opened the case the top of lipstick was slanted and that makes it easier to put on.

HOW I APPLY LIPSTICK:

I outline my lips with a lipstick pencil as close to the Colour I am using. Please don’t go over the out side rim of your lips.

I use a lipstick brush to apply one coat, (using a lipstick brush means your lipstick lasts longer). Then I use a brush and dip it in loose powder and dust my lips. I then apply a second coat of the lipstick.

THE BORING PARTS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

I could smell the scent similar to a fig. I love fresh figs and almost ate the lipstick up!

Reading from the box the Formula, (is secret), and they only tell you that it includes Vitamins C and E, a natural moisturizer, ’Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Acrylates Copolymer, BHA, Candelilla Wax, Carnauba, Castor Oil, Ceresin, Cetyl Acetate, Lanolin Oil, Methylparaben, Padimate 0, Paraffin, Propylparaben, Propylene Glycol Ricinoleate, PVP/Hexadecane Copolymer, Octyl Hydrostearate, Octyl Palmitate, Rose Hips Seed Oil and Acetate.

The Company says that the lipstick should stay on for a long time.

MY CONCLUSION:

I found that the colour glided on nicely. My lips felt moist and the feeling didn’t go away until I removed it.

I have used it twice and it did last from the time I applied it, through dinner and a few cigarettes and still was shiny when I got home, (about five hours later).

Would I buy this lipstick colour again? No but I would try another colour.

Would I buy it in a Store? No I’d wait to buy it in a Duty Free Shop.

Do I look like Rene Zellweger? No but my lips look lucius and kissable!
