I love Maybelline’s “Great Lash® Waterproof Mascara”! I have been using the Maybelline products for as long as I can remember.

The mascara itself goes on smooth and is not heavy feeling on the eyelashes in which allows you not to “look made up!” I cannot stand to look gawky or look at someone who looks gawky!

The mascara comes in a pink container, .43 fl. oz. or 12.7 ml. The brush is curved which will allow for an easy application. The curved brush I have found makes my eyelashes look fuller and natural. The straight brushes will do the same but I seem to have a problem sometimes with large amounts of mascara going onto my eyelashes with the straight brushes. I use very black and let me tell you if you gets clumps of mascara on your eyelashes the very black will certainly show up! (A straight brush is also available.)

The package says “All day wear” this is true. I have never had a problem with my mascara not looking fresh all day or my eyelashes not looking full all day. It also has conditioners that allow your eyelashes to be soft and makes the eyelashes look fuller and healthy as the package states it will do. Now I have to admit at the end of the day I do sometimes re-apply my mascara to freshen them up (it’s a girl thing) and I have never had a problem by doing this, meaning adding more mascara to the already applied mascara does not clump or leave a mess. The 2nd application goes on just as smooth as the first. (The eyelashes are still soft at the end of the day, which is a plus and makes for an easier 2nd application.) The mascara is also hypoallergenic for you allergy sufferers and for those of you who have sensitive eyes. I know I have used some mascara’s that have made my eyes burn. This one does not.

The waterproof mascara is just that! Waterproof! I have cried many tears wearing mascara, as I am sure we women have at one time or another. I have never had a problem with the mascara running down my cheeks making me look like a raccoon!
You can go swimming as well as shower with this mascara. I truly hate it when I wear or anyone else for that matter wears mascara that runs when you shed tears or go swimming! It looks really bad. (And you will look like a raccoon!)

Clean up is simple as well. Usually I use my normal facial wash but sometimes I will use a little baby oil on a Kleenex or cotton ball. The baby oil allows my eyelashes to be conditioned more and leaves them very soft. It will also remove all the black from the mascara.

With each use you will need to pump the brush gently in and out of the container a few times to allow the mascara no go on smoothly on the brush as well as your eyelashes. Never put mascara on while traveling in a moving vehicle. This is too dangerous to you and other drivers on the road. Don’t be stupid be safe!

Also, don’t use water to dilute the mascara because it will take away the effect and it will cause your mascara not to last. The mascara is good for about 3 months usage only. “If an odor occurs it is time to throw away and buy a new one.”

Be sure to read the back of the package for the ingredients. You don’t want to purchase something that may have an ingredient that you are allergic too. You should always consult your doctor if you accidentally brush your eyes with the mascara or scratch your eyes badly with the applicator. Never use any eye products on your eyes if you have had eye surgery, or have cuts around the eye area. AND NEVER EVER LET ANYONE USE YOUR MASCARA! This is a big no, no because of infections. And pink eye is one of the worst and most contagious. And at my age pink eye is not fun!

Be sure and close the lid tightly after each use. If you don’t your mascara will dry up and you will have to replace it sooner.

Overall “Maybelline Great Lash®” mascara is wonderful. The price is right and the company is a name I can trust. I have to admit though that I do use other mascara’s and I am satisfied with them as well, but I always come back to this one.

You can purchase this mascara at any discount retail store, drug store or grocery store. The cost depends on where you buy it. For instance at Wal-mart I paid only 2.96 but at the local Winn Dixie it will cost you a dollar or so more. Same with drug stores. Of course there are coupons available that will allow for a cheaper purchase.
