I have been having an account in
Bank of America (actually with Barnett Bank which merged with Nations Bank which got bought over by Bank of America) since the last 7-8 years. You get the drift
of how the banking industry is changing -
survival of the fittest.
Regular Banking services:The
Bank of America offers regular banking services like:
- Checking, Savings and Money Market accounts
- Direct Deposit of your paycheck (very, very important) -
daal roti ka sawaal hai- ATM facility.
Bank of America has thousands of
convenient ATM withdrawal locations (including drive-ins) all over the country and they do not charge fees for withdrawing from out-of-towners(unless you withdraw from a different bank and then they catch you big time -
mil gaya bakra)
- Setting up of direct withdrawals from the bank to take care of regular payments like monthly bills etc
- The service of the staff at the bank location, is very courteous and professional.
Minor Differentiators:Offering of a Check Card (aka Debit Card) with a photo id feature - free of charge. The photo id feature is neat, as it minimizes the chances of fraudulent use.
Major Differentiators:Access to on-line banking is
free of charge to all customers. It is very easy to set up bill payments and it reduces the hassle of writing, stamping and posting the check.
Disadvantages:The only thing which I can think of is the interest rates. But that is true of the entire retail banking industry.
I am very much satisfied with their service and would recommend
Bank of America for anybody who wants to experience
banking with a difference.
No, I am not getting paid anything to say this. At least not credited into my Bank of America account
