My mother is always complimenting me on my hair and how, after all these years, I’ve been able to kill off Harpo. - Harpo Marx, that is. I’ll explain.

I am one of those unfortunate
creature that was born with the curse of unruly, uncontrollable, curly fuzz people pass off as hair. After shampooing, if I don’t use my blow-dryer and pull the curls out, I look like Harpo Marx who just had his finger stuck in an electrical socket!

I have nothing against curly or wavy hair, as long as the wild beast is tame enough to let me put a brush through it. For as long as I can remember, that was a feat that seemed unattainable.

I’d gotten a tip from a hairdresser who, upon seeing my hair for the first time, just stood still for about 2 full minutes, with eyes wide open, not knowing what to say. At least she was polite enough not to laugh.

For a number of years now, Pantene has been my regular shampoo. While it worked fairly well, on a rainy day, Harpo always managed to electrocute himself and become reincarnated at the top of my head. Then something great happened. The Procter & Gamble Company, who makes Pantene, improved on their products. One of their newer items was PANTENE SMOOTH & SLEEK shampoo. I just had to try it.

While reading the ingredients (which are more than I ever realized was in shampoo), I saw a few very familiar words that indicated the kinds of chemicals that would make one drowsy (if the pure form was inhaled) - including ether. Maybe that’s why it works so well. IT PUTS MY FRIZZY CURLS TO SLEEP!!!

(some of the ingredients are: ammonium laureth sulfate, cetyl alcohol, trimethylolpropane, panthenol, panthenyl, ethyl ether - but there are many more ...)

Okay, enough tongue-in-cheek. Honestly, this stuff does work. No, my curls aren’t gone completely, but they are certainly much more manageable. The picture of me on this public review page, shows how my hair looks after using Pantene and pulling the curls out. My hair is left just like the shampoo - SMOOTH & SLEEK.

Should your hair be a bit dry or damaged from sun exposure or dye chemicals, the PANTENE SMOOTH & SLEEK will actually help put back the needed proteins that dye and sun remove.

My hair is never left feeling dirty, grimy or weighed down the way a ’’leave-in’’ conditioner makes it feel. Since my hair is thick to begin with, Pantene makes it feel that much softer by penetrating every layer and restoring the natural proteins that the Florida sun and my swimming pool eradicate.

The curls that do exist are now sleek and bouncy. They no longer resemble a trampled straw hat.

At least, I can now say, ’’Ding dong, the witch is dead!’’ and may Harpo rest in peace. My ’’magic mirror’’ on the wall no longer laughs back at me and has stopped threatening to crack.

I can also go outside and not have birds swoop down thinking what’s on top of my head is their misplaced nest.

Along with this great shampoo, I use the PANTENE SMOOTH & SLEEK CONDITIONER’’ and my hair is smooth, sleek and touchably soft.
