Having been habituated to eating chicken, at least once in a week, I keep looking out for new places to try out every week in Pune.  

Its been almost 2 months now that one of my colleague suggested that I try "Kareem's" which has started quite recently in Aundh (the place I stay). When I went to try out this place, I was a bit skeptical about it as the place was pretty small & the location was sort of well hidden (!!). This is tucked away in a small lane (cannot even call it a lane) just beside "Ozone" on ITI Road but to my surprise, the restaurant was full and there was a good crowd waiting outside.

I was still hesitant and was standing outside the place when one of the waiters started serving refreshingly cool lemonade for the waiting crowd. Now, how many restaurants do this (in recent times)? Well, after having the free lemonade, I thought about returning the favor by ordering my favorite Chicken biryani, take away. Though the price was quite steep, Rs 120, I took home a Chicken biryani.  

I have had Chicken biryanis at many places, including some of the best (according to me) in Pune - Blue Nile, Dorabjee, Tiranga, Delhi Kitchen etc. Well, this one beats them hands down!! The aroma is irresistible, not so greasy, the chicken very soft & juicy and the whole thing just melts in your mouth!! Sluurrpp!!!  

Till date we have tried lots of kebabs & the same old Chicken biryani on a number of occasions, mostly take-away or home delivery (as its too crowded)  and everything has been exceptionally good. Its definitely costlier compared to others but its worthwhile trying it at least once!!   I was later told that Kareem's is a very popular chain of restaurant in Mumbai and they have recently opened up in Pune (disclaimer attached!!).
