A R Rahman the musical maestro has a shining name in the music industry. The recent World Space Promos he is doing is great. Yuva is a very well thought after album as Mani Ratnam didn’t wanted any songs for the film but we have six gems to cherish....

....and as I was listening to the rollicking beats, brilliantly-etched frames of a great film flashed before my eyes. Newness is Freshness....Freshness is the taste of Youth....And the album carries this taste throughout. Yes! I am talking about the...

Maniratnam and A.R.Rehman is classic duo of ’’director and music-director’’, who takes the responsibility of giving audience pleasure to eyes, ears, mind and soul. In the 50s-60s Raj Kapoor and Shankar-Jaikishan gave the songs which still look so...

Yuva and Ayudha Ezhuthu
By: arunprakash Member's photo available | May 20, 2004 02:10 AM
I personally feel that, there should not be any comparison between the two versions, coz only the actors and the languages are different. I really wanted to comment on the lyrics and the music. Though the lyrics in Tamil is okay, Hearing the song...

Musical Disappointment
By: krishnakumar | May 19, 2004 10:23 PM
After hearing Yuva for the first time a few weeks ago, I felt disappointed. However, I put my feelings on hold, and told myself that I will start liking the songs. Past experiences have taught me to wait till Rahman’s songs grow on you. But after repeated...

Youth rocks !
By: sk27 | Apr 19, 2004 12:07 AM
As the movie title suggests that the film is based around the lives of 3 young men, the music too is created by ARR to be very young and fast paced. Anyways everytime Mani and ARR work together it has spelled musical delight and here too is the same case. But...

No doubt the music of YUVA is brilliant .... finally Indian music is combining progressive elements ... My fave track is DHAKKA LAGA BUKKA ... it has a very complex structure, with the verse riffs going distorted first, then acoustic-electric and finally...

Enchanting Yuva
By: praveen_gk Member's photo available | Apr 08, 2004 10:13 PM
The first time I listened to the songs of Aayitha Ezhuthu(Yuva), I decided that this was Rahman’s worst composition ever. Then, I had the opportunity to listen to the tunes in my office with the aid of headphones. I realized that the momentum was...

Go YuvA-Go TechnO
By: thegreatone | Mar 31, 2004 02:45 PM
YuvA-the name itself suggests that the soundtrack would have fast paced numbers and A.R.Rahman has done just that. Mr. Rahman goes more techno with this album and he has composed some real fast paced “young” music with a techno beat...

Hindustani music meets Western Trance meets India Folk meets Indian film music. Rahman has always been willing to experiment. In Mani Ratnam he finds the perfect inspiration. A word of caution. Dont listen to this album on earphones or tiny PC speakers....

Bade ho ja, bachche ... Time and again, I have read in many articles that Bollywood needs to grow up. Now, I have nothing personal against Thumbs Up, I even tolerate their idiotic commercials featuring semi-nude aliens like Sallu Lallu,...

We have seen the magic of the Rahman-Ratnam combination in the past. So it is obvious that when these two biggies in their own field, the expectations are sky high. And Yuva, does not only meet those expectations it goes way beyond them. First of...

Is this Rahman ????
By: nelsaan Member's photo available | Mar 26, 2004 02:08 AM
There is a distinct difference between the Rahman who composed Taal and the Rahman who composed Yuva. He is using more and more techno and electronic jingle - jangle in his scores to make the audience jump rather than look for melody. He ends...
