Not a time bomb
By: sapnasmom Member's photo available | Sep 17, 2005 02:00 PM

I have nothing against the bending and twisting of historical facts that has supposedly happened in Mangal Panday : The Rising. I am not a stickler for facts and I am not going to dance a jig if some facts or characters are imagined. Afterall,...

’Mangal Pandey: The Rising’ has already garnered as much controversy as much as attention it has in terms of being one of the most awaited films ever for obvious reasons. There is a tendency on the part of us Indians to either eulogise or scandalise our...

Mangal Pandey, arguabley year’s most awaited, hyped-like-never-before, one of the costliest movie. Aamir Khan returned after 4+ years. It has Rani Mukharjee, Toby Stephens (Die Another Day fame). Ketan Mehta (Mirch Masala, Sardar fame) is the caption...

The public had great expectations from the movie. In fact, the critics & makers of the film were quite sure that this movie might do better than ’Lagaan’. Mangal Pandey had been marked as the most expected release of this year. But, it failed to fulfill...

Absolutely NOT worth the wait!
By: Okradokra | Sep 03, 2005 02:28 AM
No fizz ! other than Aamir and maybe to some Rani’s auction for a few rupees . The movie seemed half - baked failing to capture any true emotion . I believe Ketan Mehta is capable of doing a much better job . For those of you who haven’t...

By: RevMax | Aug 26, 2005 02:57 PM
Disclaimer: This is not a review on Amir alone or on Shri Mangal Pandey. I am also not a history buff so I am not going to comment whether the movie is really based on what Mangal did on a day to day basis 148 years ago. (You see he was not a celebrity...

Mangal Pandey and Aamir Khan
By: lijum Member's photo available | Aug 24, 2005 08:08 PM
I think Aamir Khan is most suitable for the role of Mangal Pandey. No other actor in Bollywood could have done justice to the character than Aamir. He lives the life of the character he portrays and is not worried about the number of such characters...
