I liked the film overall, despite its flaws. I felt Rajnikanth as Chitti 2.0 was eminently watchable, and Akshay Kumar as Pakshi Raja had just the villainy to support our Style Mannan. Shankar's writing fails him, but not his imagination. Amy Jackson is pretty but emotion-less like a Robot. The ...climax is twisted and fun but borrows a lot from Marvel's Ant-Man films. Yes, I do agree Shankar could handle female leads better. But he is a visionary. You mentioned Indian, Nayak and Anniyan. I would add one more film, Gentleman, his first, to this list of vigilantee movies. Plus, once I saw Mudhalvan, I did not bother watching its Hindi version, Nayak.Read More

The sequel to Enthiran titled 2.0 is a lot to take in, for a superhero film that clocks in at around 3 hours. Essentially, it is Shankar’s ode to the nature, metaphorized by “Pakshi Raja, ” a bird-loving ornithologist, gone rogue and out to destroy everything cellular. Think an extension of the ...Read more

I thought it is a fine film, made more engaging thanks to Cooper and Gaga. There is no revelations in the film, the plot is familiar, but it is romantic and affecting. I enjoyed it, although I would not watch it a second time.

I don't think he is all that pragmatic because if he was, he wouldn't not have had to revert to coercion to get the poll done his way. By the end, he was like 'damn the conquence, I want it done at all cost'. Now, that is not pragmatism. Whereas, Tripati's Aatma Singh knows there are cer...tain limitations to our electoral system. Nowhere he is shown as corrupt, but he is just cynical. By saying I am with him, I mean to say that my cynisim on Indian politics is similar. Maybe pragmatic is a poor epithet but I feel Aatma Singh is more realistic than Newton Kumar.Read More
