I visited NBC Kadavanthra Restaurant a week back. Rs160 for Chicken Biryani and it is below average. perhpas, the taste does not suit our people. also, the restaurant was jampacked and ambience, service was below average. I haven’t tried their other items though. CB(Chicken Biryani) at NBC - 3/10 ...- My Marks :) Best Chicken Biryani in Kochi - Chillies above Tandoor at Woodlands Jn. it costs Rs120 or so these days. But, it is hot and definitely be tried with Andhra Puli Achar and Mango Achar Plus Extra Pappadams. Best Biryani I have is at ’’TEECEE Restaurant+BAR at Thodupuzha, some 62kms from Ernakulam. To do: I will have to taste Chicken Biryani at Grand Hotel and ’’Just Biryani’’ at Pullepady/Padma Junction. and Kayees, Heard a lot about them. The Biryani served in Kochi is below average in taste compared to the ones available at Muvattupuzha-Thodupuzha area IMO. may be, because I don’t like the Malabari style chicken they use at Ernakulam for Biryani which is awful In My Opinion(IMO). Good Luck Hunting Best Chicken/Mutton Biryanis..Read More

I am thinking of Buying a Air Cooler Here in Kerala. It is very Hot this time in Kerala. I am living in Muvattupuzha ,Midlands and it is some 30kms away from Coastline Radially. My Doubt is ,Will Air Coolers Work Fine in this Region?

@lokajit:I will recommend you ask TVS Service for fork overhauling.the complaint with few rtr180s are that of slightly low fork oil level and some issue with fork piston. If they are not aware of this issue ,contact TVS via email explaining this issue with your phone no. and they will help you do so.... You can get TVS Emails here: response@tvsmotor.in sr.rath@tvsmotor.co.in Service.Support@tvsmotor.co.in @karthikthenewbiker:I will recommend Pulsar 220 over RTR180 in that case. But Wait!next month(2010),TVS will be launching RTR220 with ABS as per what I read in xbhp or so. Good Luck Hunting for new Bike. -- BTW ,My Bike Completed 3500kms and it is the same fun riding this Bike which remembers Me sometimes of My 1998 era buddy - RX100. :)Read More

I have expereinced rusting in My(Now sold) Indica.Patchwork itself costed Rs8000 :( .If You are on coastal areas ,this underbody coating with Wuerth,3M like Good Brands are MUST!Yes.And I 100% Agree with Venky in his review..but change oil, filter at 5000kms ,do underside coating once every year,avai...l the spray(plastic &poly spray) TASS/ASC have sprayed on doors to make sure beadings/plastic parts don’t get sticky resulting in door glasses getting loose(plastic mount has to be replaced),Once in a while Waxing/Teflon too is good,Read More

Dicor for Indica’s/Indigos are failure.frequent issues.read about this in team-bhp.com.Recently ,I got a offer for a dicor Indica ,but discarded later. My Humble Opinion is ,swap the Engine and electricals/ECU for a Turbo Indica used oneEngine(if possible).

Me too had a 2002 (model:2001) Indica. A/C is not very much effective in Indica's till september 2002 model.Old Indica's especially those from end 2002 to end 2003 are trouble free, simple(no messy ECU connected) Machines. While Writing this ,I am again searching for a Indica DLS(2008 and above).O...nce Indica ,Always Indica!Affordable Car ,even if it comes with inherent niggles. The 1.4Litre IDI NA(Normally Aspirated) Engine in Indica can run till 1.5 lakhs without any major engine work as some mechanics claims. My Indica DLE had closed 178,000 plus when Sold(Engine Overhauled at 173,000). Sincerely Hoping TATA Motors Will Not Stop production of Indica for coming Years as well.Read More

I heard ,Tata Motors advices a ECU firmware update for all vista's which incidently improves A/C performance also.Vista owners - Look for that!

Don't expect the reliability of Toyota or Jap cars in Tata! But Vista seems to Me a good improvement(Albeit small niggles AGAIN!)

OK.So ,I can't add more updates to original review. Here is My Small Follow Up after 2nd Free Service over(last week). I was facing a 'Thud' Sound from front forks even on small cracks in the Road from the day of purchase.New Bikes in the Showroom too have this issue.Cochin TVS(Vyttila) Service Men ...Claimed it is Normal(Which is NOT!). I Ended up mailing TVS Regional Office(Hosur) and Immediate Response.Mr.Pitchaiyah of Banglore Office send a Engineer to Cochin TVS Service and They Overhauled Front Forks(He even assured Me ,that any problem will be dealt and resolved.thanks for that!).Later ,I learned that Few Batches of RTR 180's have less front fork fluids.also a bigger bush HAS TO BE attached to fork pistons. It was resolved(after some agony!).So ,Now after 2700kms ,I am Happy With RTR 180.Build Quality is Good.TVS Now offers Chain Lube Spray for O-ring Chains through their service centres. But ,I already uses Motul Chain lube&chain clean.Still Chain Lube is recommended over Grease,Engine oil,SAE90 gear oil etc mechanics use to lubricate.(Spray can keep your chain good for atleast 400kms) IMPORTANT: For New Buyers of RTR180 ,I will suggest Before Buying Your Ride ,Just Test Ride through pocket roads with Bumps(Speed Breakers) to verify that Fork piston is not making Thud Sound. If Yes ,Ask them to Resolve this(TVS Already send the info to Dealers all across). Regarding Top Speed ,I have taken the Bike to 112kmph as of Now.(no Free Roads,it is Kerala state Yaara..)Gears are still somewhat notchy,Irritating Vibrations are there at 55-60kmph.that's it regards, PrakashRead More
