Commented on amrita's review

Feb 23, 2009 02:00 AM (Updated Feb 23, 2009 02:06 AM)

Amrit always writes the way she sees it,and I like that.Coming to this article, I think all successful actors in a sense turn out to be 'fakes'...they are so involved with acting out their many roles (which requires sublimation of their real selves) that over time the dividing line between their rea...l selves and their 'role' becomes blurred..they are always acting even off screen, where quite often their 'role' is scripted by their PR agents! I do agree to SOME extent with Amritas conclusion..a key difference between Amir and SRK is that SRK has broader interests eg theatre,IPL Kolkatta Knightriders and is therefore likely to have some sense of a self beyond movies, whereas Amir(as far as I know) is obsessively into films and only films and is therefore consumed entirely by a make -believe world and a greater chance of his true self being lost to a 'role playing' requirement.Read More

Yes, vispi, as my friend ssay,u r in the wrong place. But I decided to ignore that in my rating and treat the mis-placement as a technicality only since this is your first review. I have marked your review as R since it contains a number of points which would interest a potential buyer, although I do... think the length of your review needs to be beefed up.Read More

Hello LL, I gave yr review an SR instead of my initial inclination of R since I felt that on balance yr review was largely a delineation of facts rather than holding any significant opinion or judgement. I do feel that a movie review should cover in addition the tightness/tautness of the storyline,... the pace of the film, the quality of direction, the production values, the quality of the acting etc You do write very readably tho'Read More

Hi Cindy, you are probably pretty enthusiastic abt the band, but yr eulogy reads almost like a plug, a paid commercial! Viva is heavily backed by the TV Channel who 'manufactured' them, and is still today a complete creature of a carefully orchestrated hype. Personally, I find their songs banal...,and the band just a bunch of pretty young things with the difference that they have influential and financially strong backers with major access to media. Nyways,I think it is too early to judge..lets see how they stack up once the 'shelter' is removed!Read More

Well, theres one way to know for sure...next time you use the product, please feel free to invite me to participate in putting it to the 'more kissable' test! Then u... will KNOW for sure! lol Read More

Hi, U write well. BUT I rated yr review as SR cos ---- in my humble view---- what you write does not touch much on the core topic ' are chain restaurants successful?'

As I had (and have) some personal familiarity with the Parle company that makes Frooti, I just want to point out a couple of factual errors: 1.Frooti was NEVER synthetic, even its early years...it contained mango pulp at 10%right through. 2.The Digen Verma campaign was unsuccessful ( reasons w...hy not relevant here) as a piece of COMMERCIAL advertising, which is why perhaps it was dropped. Among other things,it didnt achieve its principal goal..to increase brand sales and rejuvenate brand image. Also, while it did make the name Digen prominent , it may have detracted attention from the brand and failed to create a connection between Digen and Frooti. I do agree with you,Frooti is a terrific drink...they now hv an Orange and a Pineapple...in my personal view, the pineapple is particularly good.Read More

I have given your review of ISB an SR cos it is too generalised,global..a lot of pfaff and hot air without much specifics. It really reads like an extract from an ISB recruitment brochure, and what you say abt ISB can be said abt any of the IIM's for example. I think it wld hv been nice if u had ta...lked abt what exactly makes ISB different from the other leading business schools..after all, all of them have practising managers on the faculty and all of them claim to provide substantial student-industry interaction. U might also like to talk abt the specific courses of study, the workload, assessment systems, nature of interaction with faculty, the residential facilities, the library and documentation facilities etc.Read More

At least you are assured that a bulldog is generally not of the 'SMELL YOUR CROTCH' genre!!!!Lol I have a Dalmation, following after a Labrador,an Irish Setter, and a fox terrier...i find the breed a great one for fam...ilies, very friendly, very loveable and very loving! And quite easy to train too.Read More

never thought I would see that day, though!!lol Also, something that interests a lot of us: whats the battery life like? Assuming you are a moderate user only,do you need to recharge every day? SMS--- is it as easy to send and receive as in a Nokia?

well,yr writing style is certainly exciting! However,I have rated your review as SR and not r because you have completely ignored the stations programming, quality of VJ'S etc.I do appreciate yr complaint abt the way they run their contest, and the rudeness of their telephone operator....but still I ...think a station review should touch a lot on the programming. I have never participated(nor knew of)this radio city contest, but it seems so simple that I imagine quite a few hundreds wld get the answer right.Perhaps they give the prize to the 15 earliest right answers?Read More

NOW that I know,I have it as a DEFINITE DEFINITE for my Jun...e reading. Thanks Pooj, but tell me,wont women lose their charm(personally,I find the race utterly fascinating) if we men learn to read them too well??Read More

Hi. Enjoy yourself at MouthShut. Yr writing style is nice and crisp, but you need to put more meat into yr review.i wld have marked it as R instead of SR if you had covered more detail...eg prices, kind of food available, some speciality dishes, decor and ambience, the kind of crowd that goes ther...e etc. reading yr review ,I really dont get a flavour of what kind of restaurant this is,,,eg is it like Pizza Hut? go thru some of the restaurant reviews which have received HR 's and you will get a good idea of what and how to cover. hello geetha, I found this a very well written review, and hope to read more from u in future. I was tempted to mark it HR but settled for R cos I felt that ,considering it was a review on Mahabeleshwar, you could have written somwhat more abt mahabaleshwar, its sights, recreational facilities like th...e boating, surrounding areas within easy reach eg Panchgani...and less about the hotel. HOWEVER,PURELY as a hotel review,it deserves an HR!Read More

Nice review. THE ONLY REASON I DIDNT RATE IT hr WAS FOR THE SAME THINGS THAT JUST-DID-IT WRITES ABT, I.E IT WLD HV BEEN NICE TO KNOW A BIT MORE ABOUT PARKING, DECOR, ETC. I really apprecoated your explanation of what a sizzler.Even tho' Sizzler is in the name of the restaurant one should not as...sume that everybody will know what it is,and therefore an explanation f the cuisine type is really necessary. Hope to read some more reviews from you. Read More

Bailly is a bottled water, not a bottled drink like Pepsi or Limca. As far as I know, none of the bottled waters contain artificial sweeteners like aspartame.... I dont know whether bottled drinks contain them, altho I would be surprised if they do,at least in India, where it is more economical to use... sugar. As to whether tap water is better tahn bottled waters in general,i doubt it..at least in most parts of the country, bottled waters would be purer than tap water, and probably have a cleaner taste as well...which is probably why bottled water sales are nearly doubling every year.Read More
