Not late at all. Fantastic to find someone has actually read all of the recos. George Mikes too! Cronin unfortunately is very difficult to find in India. All of mine have been picked up from old book stores in various parts of the country. And now that you are past the padding stage, ... may I suggest Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami (and an intimate photograph of yourself for me to support your claim :) Jokes apart, do let me know if you like Murakami though. so long and thanks for all the phishRead More

Laughed out loud at the review. Couldn't help but imagine a tech-savvy monster, one who chewed on Dr. Dobbs before the rest of the country knew what a computer was, saddled with this gizmo (can I call it one?). The K750 is a pretty neat phone though. Just wondering if you would like to revi...ew the W800i (and a 1 gig RMC) Just bought it and would like you to tell me how bad it is. Like madsadman I too held onto my E365 for a couple of years before it was flicked. Am back to Nokia now. Though the overall feel of a Motorlola is ok. It's only when you switch back to Nokia do you realise what a compromise everything else is. Similar problems with the OS and non-standardised... features make the motorola phones a pain to use. Software design too remains tacky. But maybe I shall check this out. Good review. so long and thanks for all the phish!Read More

Have to admit that the Honda Activa is one of the most attractive two-wheelers around. The first time I rode it was in my student days in Pune. Later three days all over Goa. Phenomenal mileage and great handling. Now I want a Vespa... Great Review. so long and thanks for all the phish!

The film had patches of sheer brilliance which makes you wonder is it the same director throughout. Maybe as you rightly point out the focus on the Bachchan's killed it proper. Still different from the apparently different films RGV's Factory seems to be churning out. For that matter, Sanjay ...Gupta. Liked the review. I completely agree with the fact though, that being a Peter Jackson flick it fell short of expectations. But I guess that's the price of fame. Strongly feel Adrien Brody was under used. Also typical black and white characters made it typically Hollywood. Good review of a good movie. so long... and thanks for all the phish!Read More

Interesting review. My experience with the bank has been pretty dismal. I still hold my LIC policies very close to my heart and the servive has always been great if not exceptional. ROFL-ing review. My battle with the ISP and bandwidth hoggers ended with a radio broadband connection. Though I still fall back on dear ol' BSNL at times when that seems to be down. Just a suggestion - a little formatting of the text will make our lives a lot easier. so long and thanks ...for all the phish!Read More

Hey just wanted to say that I was just getting warmed up when you seem to have stopped. But thanks for adding to my already vast storehouse of knowledge. Some of the stuff even I didn't know of. Well researched. And for Spartan's sake I hope, not completely lifted. so long and thanks for al...l the phish!Read More

Keep getting mixed reviews of this film. Really need to catch the original titled Old Boy. In fact, today's Mid-Day gives us a few frames from the original in conjunction with Zinda. Not too much originality there. Rest assured, Sanjay Gupta must belong to a very good DVD library. Good ...review. so long and thanks for all the phish!Read More

Great review for a splendid film. Found it in a friends house. Borrowed it first, acquired it later. Tim Burton always manages to produce an epic fantasy out of the simplest of stories - and only he could have pulled this off. What characters. Let me go and watch it again. so long and ...thanks for all the phish!Read More

You just saved me a trip. I have been hearing about this apparent renovation and was dying to get there to check it out. My last visit was in my teens. And I remember the place perfectly well. The instance of a steward not knowing what a Cuba Libre is, is indeed shocking. From what I remember,... the captains and stewards were extremely polished, venerable elderly Bengali or Anglo-Indian gentlemen, who would cough politely if you didn't know your cutlery. Some would even volunteer to carve your roast chicken for you and save you the embarassment. All the while making small talk as if its perfectly normal. They also poked a little genial sarcasm if you left the blanched spinach untouched. The Calcutta nostalgia continues. Though everything is quickly turning out to be a very bad dream indeed. so long and thanks for all the phish!Read More

Great review. Couldn't help but feel a little sad at the state of things though. The Fish Muniere at Mocambo was probably the best in the whole country. And I am sure they still do a very good Crab Thermidor. Unfortunately, the attitude of most Calcutta restaurants remain extremely pedestri...an when it comes to service. Maybe, people are just not eating out at these establishments anymore. Or it is the competition with snazzy interiors doing them in. I still can remember the red striped leather sofas there and the dim lantern suspended from a very high ceiling. Hope to see more restaurant reviews from you. so long and thanks for all the phish!Read More

Good informative review! Hopped into the place last month on a routine trip - waddled out. The menu is a regular novella. Deciding what to order took at least 20 minutes. Completely agree with the low rating that you've given this restaurant but do try and give some more information. I will be more than happy to re-rate the review. The sizzlers really suck though. Good informative review. Stumbled across this place one sultry afternoon. Been there once with a woman I'd rather forget. Rocking review. Unpretentious and highly appetising. All the things I cannot possibly say for Olive. In Bombay for quite awhile now, I haven't met anyone who go to Olive for the food or the ambience. They go there to be seen or to feel cool. Poor dears. Class is something, that cannot un...fortuately be bought. Visit Olive any Saturday evening and you'll find overhyped advertising executives, overtly made-up, fifty something horses that look like ladies and loud celebrities who do not pick up their tab. AD Singh has become quite a celeb in his own right. Good for him. With Olive around, rest assured the scum is now rstricted to just one little corner. Keep it up woman. so long and thanks for all the phish!Read More

Good work! You've kept it simple and yet insightful. Only wish Bollywood filmmakers would do the same. Really wish you would also add Sanjay Suri's performance in My Brother Nikhil. One film that was really refreshing. One that stood out by sheer simplicity. But I am just nit-picking here.... Keep it up. so long and thanks for all the phish!Read More
