I have visited Kolkata just once, five years ago, for a friends wedding. I found the city intriguing, Its claustrophobic underbelly inviting one to venture deep within its recesses, extending an invitation to find ones fear and then wallow in it. I also met the nicest people speaking the sweetes...Read more

Sonal, I watched it and found nothing particularly unique about it, which is essentially the thing that has attracted audiences (who can relate to those cliché moments because they're authentic and genuine). The bottomline is that at the end of the day, the spirit is addictive and hard to ig...nore. The movie is for people who like the idea of a big family gathering with lots of alcohol, food and fun. Cynics and people who hate Hindi films should stay away.Generally speaking, I would advise people to go see it, perhaps love it, but please don't build it up to be anything more than it actually is. P P.S. Vardalos’ real life husband Ian Gomez has a part as his onscreen counterpart’s friend.Read More

Hi Mate, That was a good review. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Now that would strike a chord with everyone. The rich train their young ones to get richer. The poor train their young ones to make the rich richer. Now that is society mate. Irrespective of who invests OR where one ...invests OR how one invests OR how much one invests. Someone rich is getting richer. Someone benefits. Like Robert.T.Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter did from you. Wealth is an illusion and it is subjective. Someone is always richer than you and you are aspiring to get as rich as him... No matter how rich the world percieves you to be. It’s a cesspool that man created the day he invented money as a form of exchange and formed the society that would measure how much your money can buy. In this vicious cycle of materialism (which we have to accept and live in.. no matter how much we live in denial), the only thing we can truly inherit from our parent (rich dad or poor dad) are value systems. How you pave your path towards the wealth you aspire is your problem. (Remember... Some ancestor of these rich people was born into poverty). And even inherited wealth cannot fight economics or foolish inheritors forever (Rich dad.. poor great grandson / Poor Dad... Rich great grandson). Regards P Read More

Sonal, You have great writing talent. For the quality of writing on the review, you deserve a 'Very Usefull' But the review on a movie.. which you loved.. and which I thought was a suitable refuge for depressed romantics. 'Love Hurts' and lovers swim the melodramatic sea of tears.... and find ...the city of angels....Pooh PRead More

Kalyani, The 'very usefull' is not for the review on the book. The review will not help me, because the book does not sound like my kind of a read. The 'Very uselfull' is for your writing skills. The review has been put together very well. Keep writing.. P P.S. Wonder if Mouthsut ca...n have a different rating mechanism for for the usefullness of the review on the reviewed subject and another on the quality of the review itself.Read More

Sonal, In the middle of all the banter.. you still managed to make some sense (Wanna try your hand at making a 'Manmohan Desai-kind-of-movie'). Nice taking-apart of a movie that fell-apart in the directors chair. You have talent, woman. God bless you with a phone-line that never goes dead. ...Keep writing... Awaiting your review on phones. There are movies that make you feel good. And there are movies that make you feel disgusted. Not often does a movie that leaves one untouched. That’s how I felt about MPKDH. Indifferent. I did not like the movie. I did not hate it. I did not leave the theatre abusing the filmmaker and I...Read more

Hi Rajendra, Ur right when you talk of the exceptionally poor service culture especially when it comes from an organisation that carries the brand name of AT&T. However you are a little off the mark when you claim that there is an addition of one minute to the monthly billing. IT IS JUST TE...CHNICALLY IMPOSSIBLE...unless the extra minute is added with a pen..by hand after the bill is printed. I would love to know how you came to that conclusion. AT&T has a long way to go..lets wait and watch how thing turn out with Bharti and BSNL entering the fray. Keep writingRead More

That was fun to read. I hope the series against Zimbabwe will be as much fun. Zimbabwe are no longer minnows. The play unorthadox cricket, play with their hearts out and on their day, are a handy team. If India can play competitive cricket on the bouncy pitches, Ill be happy. If they manage a... win, it will be the proverbial icing on the cake and They win the series.... Great writingRead More

BPL are known to be sad at billing. What hurts is that people in Mumbai dont have much of a choice. They can either opt for bad billing by BPL or sad network coverage by Orange. Its like choosing between two evils. There is a buzz that the Birla AT&T - Tata combine is out to acquire BPL in Mu...mbai. Things should get better then. Hope..thats all we can do Great review thoughRead More

Nice Review Mujahir. One correction though. The Gateway of India is not reffered to as the 'India Gate'. The 'India gate' is a different, but equally famous historical structure in Delhi. For a first review, you have great writing skills. Look forward to many such reviews from you. Welcome to ...mouthshut...Have fun..Keep writing.Read More

Read this book sometime back. The auther dragged the book quite a bit in establishing the story. Things, of course, do get interesting as one reads on. If you can survive the first 50 pages, without falling asleep...You sure do suffer from insomnia. Great review though..Keep writing
