Standard Chartered Bank is the most customer unfriendly, unscrupulous, unethical and rogue bank that I have come across till date.It is fact a fraud on the people of INDIA.
This is my experience with the titanium credit card from SCB.
There are a lot of hidden charges and checks on the cash back t...hat is offered.Before signing the application,you are treated like a king and that is it.Once you sign the application, your torture begins and it is never ending.
The titanium card promises that there is a cash back of 1% on the amount you spend thro' the card.
BUT THERE IS A CATCH HERE.THE MINIMUM AMOUNT YOU SHOULD SPENT IS RS.1000/- .
REMEMBER,If you spend less than this amount there is no cash back.
They mention that the maximum cash back is Rs.500/- but there is a catch here too.They conveniently hide the fact that there is LIMIT ON THE MAXIMUM CASH BACK PER TRANSACTION. THE LIMIT OF CASHBACK PER TRANSACTION IS Rs.250/-.
Even if the cash back is less than Rs.500/- if you exceed that limit of per transaction, you will not be given the entire cash back of 1%.
And now coming to the customer care personal at their call centre.The less said about them the better.The people are not all trained to handle customer queries.It looks like the call centre guys is a kind of goonda threatening you not to disturb him.
In the first place,you will be made to wait for more than 15 minutesthen when you ask a query,they just bang the phone with no regard toyou or your query.
And the most shocking think is that when asked for the email id to send in your queries,the person at the other end simply replies in a threatening tone that I can complain to the highest authority concerned but that will have not effect on them.
My sincere and humble advice to all of you is do not get carried by the misleading ads of SCB.There a lot of hidden charges and checks in the cash back offered.It is infact a fraud on the credit conscious people of INDIA.
