I've had a Blaupunkt MAUI MP36 head unit for a little over a year. The unit plays MP3 and regular audio CD's, apart from radio and AUX in (rear). Blaupunkt advertises that it plays CD-R and CD-RW also.
A few months after buying this, I found that some of the CD-R's that I've burned from my PC...Read more

This is a fantastic book. It reveals a lot of history which has been ignored by our school texts, maybe knowingly or unknowingly. But it's a shame that once again, a foreigner has to tell us our own history. It was extremely intriguing to know the state of the country in the nineteenth century. ...Read more

I had visited Casa deep woods as part of a Bandipur-Madumalai trip, where we stayed in Casa deep woods(Madumalai) for one day and Tusker Trails(Bandipur) the next day. This place is a slightly steep for a jungle resort(about 3K per head, where others charge between 1.5 to 2K), but the place is r...Read more

As for showcase, I dont think anyone subscribes to them... especial...ly with the kind of movies - Zindagi rocks, and Imran Hasmi movies!Read More

The battery life of this phone isterrible. I would not recommend anyone as this is an expensive phone, and the battery life is really NOT WORTH it. The phone is just about 4 to 5 months old (I bought it in August-06), and the talktime is just30 mins... i.e. on a single charge I can make only 30 ...Read more

Hi tecfrek,
I agree that net opinion about the Flair is not good, but I dont agree to it at all. Please see the recent reviews on MS about the Ikon - most are positive. Possibly the older variants (pre-2004) cars had some problems, due to which the car has bad net opinion.
I think the car... is really great, and if you are the sort of person who likes to drive, it is a really great car... absolutely the best driver's car in this price. The problem with the AC that I mentioned has been more of less fixed now. I dont get much trouble with the AC anymore, only once or twice over the last 6 months. I think it is a minor issue, and can be easily lived with. The only thing against the car is the mileage. But then, you cant get everything.

Dear friends,
On 04 Sep 2006, IBN live reported a story on how a family suffocated to death inside a Hyundai Santro, in Faridabad. IBN live claimed it to be a"freak accident" that occurred because of the waterlogging caused bythe rain, which blocked the exhaust pipe, and led to carbon monoxid...Read more

yehmerizindagi, you have just seen the tip of the iceberg. Lufthansa is the worst airline that I have ever travelled in. They are highly inefficient in boarding the aircraft, and will waste time announcing in German, even when they know that majority of the passengers are English-speaking. They lose... your luggage... in fact if you have travelled in Lufthansa for 4 or more times, your baggage would have been left behind at least once (more if you are unlucky). Their staff is extremely racist, and is exceptionally rude to Indian or Asian people (they are rude to white people too, but a little lesser). In fact, I have so many greviances against them, that I think I'll write a whole review instead of this comment ;-)
PS: Fly Singapore Airlines if you can --- they are really goodRead More

Hi saluru123,
Most probably, the reason why you are not getting your wanted colour cobination is because manufacturing firms have problems in sceduling too much variety in their assembly lines. Typically, a line has to be setup and run for one colour combination, then stopped and again re-setup ...for another. This is why most companies offer some standard colour combinations for their products. It is very difficult to manage a lot of different colours - or any other factor which increases the variety.Read More

Come to think of it, British rule was really good for India in some aspects.
The most important is that if it were not for the British, we would have been a Muslim state. If you read the history of the pre-Raj , pre-East India Co. period, two things are apparent.
1) There was no nation of 'India...'. We had strong Turkish/Mughal/Afghan rulers in the North, and smaller Muslim and Hindu kingdoms in the South, with a Portugese presense in Goa and the west coast.
2) Muslim rulers were not always secular, and in most cases discriminated against the Hindu majority.
Our Nation, and the idea secularism is something we owe to the British. I agree that in practice we are still un-secuar by large, but at least the concept and spirit of secualrism has been understood by us, and we do owe this to the British.Read More

Take the matter up in case you know someone in the PVR management. It's good that you took down the names. You cannot take up the matter with consumer court since they refunded you, but you can still report these names to PVR's management, and hope that they do something.

Amen, sister,
And just for the record, Bangalore DOES have more bad male drivers than female ones. Pick any male driver and ask him why do the traffic rules say that you should not use the high beam, and the most common answer you can expect is 'Those traffic police rascals, just want to bother... us!'. They have no idea why you should not drive with a high beam.Read More

I was thinking of shopping for a AC, and thanks for your pointers. In particular, thanks for the tip on the installation charges and stabilizer. I'll need to keep that in mind while deciding the budget.

Man, you've NO idea what am MP3 player is!!!
Firstly 64kbps is no where near CD quality. All devices which can claim to be MP3 players handle at least 50 songs of 128 to 192 kbps.
Unfortunately, what you've bought is not a MP3 phone, but a marketing gimmic.

If your choice is limited between just these two, then Gypsy is definitely the better (or the lesser of 2 evils). Sierra is not a good performer, and is slowly being phased out (or is it already phased out). Tata Motors have terrible after sales service, so buying a vehicle that they dont produce an...ymore would mean that you're at the mercy of the local mechanic.
The gypsy is not too great when it comes to confort and performance, either, but it is phenomenal off the road. It's off-road capabilities are not matched even by pricier SUVs like Scorpio or Qualis (which is not really a SUV, but just a UV).
But I would not advise buying a very old model , like the 1986 army disposal one. The Army guys do maintain their vehicles much better than we civilians do, but still 1986 is like 20 years old, dude!
Try to get a more recent gypsy, and preferable hard-top, otehrwise, you'll be losing stuff at parking lots.
With the Gypsy, I can say that on a normal road, you would be quite unimpresssed, but take it to one of the infamous roads like Old Madras road, Bannerghatta road, and you would be able to speed over the potholes and make all the Santro's and City's eat your dust!!
Happy SUV'ing!
