I agree it's a horrible movie..I was sitting with a straight face throughout! was the movie funny? i think it can be compared to movies like jhoom barabar jhoom !

a gr8 review..I appreciate ur frank views about Ronit Roy's acting as Bheeshma. I cud not gather courage to write about him bec. of his huge fan following. gr8 work!! keep going.

Ramayan in at any time is a delight to watch. specially if it's coming from a production house like Sagars. They've excelled in mythologies without doubt. Also, Suni Laheri was excellent n he did full justice to Laxman's role. Laxman was very agressive and he lost his temper quickly. This new Laxman, he looks very soft even when he has to act aggressive. till now, he hasn't made his presence felt in the Ramayan. He's just following Ram..NDTV's Ram is ...aggressive , soft, sober at different times..so he's stealing the screen space from Laxman..he's saying Laxman's dialogues as well. Ram is like a one man army..all others r quiet when he's talking.Read More

I acknowledge your opinion about NDTV Ramayan but Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan is the best epic serial ever made. Even B.R.Chopra's Mahabharat couldn't match upto it (although it's as gr8 an epic)..It has the one thing which is lacking in all mythologies n that is 'realism' ..Arun Govil and Deepika did ...a fabulous job n it's unfair to compare them with Gurmeet and Debina..Both r gr8 actors n they fit perfectly in their respective roles but neither Arun was fat and sober, nor Deepika was a crybaby. Ram's character was supposed to be like that..sober..bec. he was 'maryada purshotam'. and Sita was not a crybaby. may be bec. she didn't get up to date info like this modern Sita does. Till Hanuman came, Sita didn't know Ram is searching her....The 'modern' Sita knew the progress of Ram till he befriended Sugreev and sent vanar sena to look out for her...The only time Sita was crying was when she was in grief . When she remembered Ram, when Ram got injured in the war, when she was sent to vanvaas by Ram after returning to Ayodhya.....Other than that, she always confronted Ravan bravely and gave him apt replies...
Most of the dialogues of this Ramayan are copied from the old Ramayan as it is. they add a few lines/twist some lines here and there n make a scene....
The new stories like Ravan's childhood , Hanuman's childhood were all nice. That doesnt make the old Ramayan bad. I feel in the new Ramayan, except for Ram and Sita, none of the supporting cast is good. specially Ravan (he puts lots of force in his dialogues and luks like a sidey bollywood villain), Hanuman (he doesn't have the physique and strength in his voice which Dara Singh had), Meghnad (he looks like a clown rather than a powerful and intelligent demon..he cares about his haircut more), Angad , Nal , Neel (they r slimmer than Sita). The star cast doesn't impress except Gurmeet and Debina.Read More
