Dear readers, I wrote this review om January 2013. During that period people were rushing behind diesel vehicles blindly. Lot of confrontation for Petrol/Diesel. lot of things happened with in this 3 years. Petrol/Diesel deregulation, various tax modification, policy changes etc made tremendous cha...nges in the mindset of costumers. In 2013 Diesel swift was available after 6 months waiting period where as now it is readily available with a cash discount of 35K. This is a simple example that how the govt policy will impact on long term in market.Read More

Dear Readers. Thanks for reading my review and writing comments and rating this review. I want to share one important information with you. The government of India issued a notification that all commercial vehicle should FIX ABS braking system from April 2015 onwards, and all old vehicle to be upgr...aded with ABS within 6 months from that date. This is a bold move from the Govt to reduce accidents because most of the accidents occurs due ti high speed ,sudden braking and loss of control due to that. ABS up to certain extend control this. For passenger cars segment, now itself ABS is coming us inbuilt or as Option package(to show the lower cost of entry level). 2 decades back in our country no car have selt belts ,but now it is compulsory. Similarly, ABS with EBD, and Airbags will be a standard accessory for all cars in India in future, may be another 5-6 years. So ,which ever car you buy, definitely it is your choice and wish, but insist for ABS and if possible air bag also. Paying some few thousand may save 'few cores or more than that in future'.Read More

Hi Readers, New Govt has come. But do not open up their plans to monthly diesel price hike. diesel price deregulation. diesel tax etc. Once there is any changes in policy it will have impact on automobile industry. But do not see any major changes. They simply maintain status co. So will will conti...nue our unending debate over economy of petrol/diesel cars.Read More

Hi sahil001, If your annual usage is more than 10 K KM, you can go for Diesel. If it is less than 10 K KM definitely go for Petrol car. THre are lot of calculations available which will confuse also.

Hi asbhaskarrao, Thanks for ur comments. I agree with the Road tax components, but it is paid as lump sum for 15 years and is paid by the dealer(from our pockets!!). Including this tax amount, around 1Lacks rupees difference between Petrol and diesel.

Dear dchhag, Thanks for your comments. You are right and and i respect your opinion. Wether we fill petrol for one lacks/ Put FD it will be beneficial. Only deference is psychological.ie. At the end of the term FD will fetch a big amount which will give 'satisfaction ' & will be an additional bonus... to the savings.Read More

Hi karthik2013, Tell me your average yearly usage. Compare to monthly usage it is advisable to consider yearly usage so that all your expenses towards maintenance & insurance will come into picture and we can get a fairly good idea about the difference of Petrol and Diesel cars.

Hi Mr.sukant0106, Thanks. How do you sure that Ritz have FRONT AND SIDE IMPACT BEAMS???? The mileage you quoted is too low. Pl check/ analyses with your A.S.S. and get it corrected. Surely it will give 14+ at any condition. At current fuel price , each and every KM improvement is deciding fac...tor of a cars fuel economy. I am getting average 15-16 Km/L.Read More

Hai ravireview and sukant 'hi sukant, do you think Maruti Ritz has Side impact beams?? ' This doubt was there for me too about front and side inpact beams. All the automobile site and even Maruti Web site keep 'MUM' about riz's Front and Side impact beams, but they boast for swift and even for wago...n r. I think it is a careful negligence and marketing technique from maruti. I am sure that Ritz have front impact beams, but not sure about side one. During servicing, the guy shown front impact beam and is similar one to Swift.Read More

Hi ravireview, You are Right. Ritz's dash board is wider and in higher position. This is a boon for tall persons. A person with 6' have good head and leg space in ritz. The wider dash will give a big car feel and confident in highways. But I do not know how it will be for shorter peoples.
