I bought a new Skoda Ocatvia, 2008 Elegance variant one and half month back. This is my review after driving it for apprx. 2500kms.I changed from my one year three month old Swift LDi. The swift, though a wonderful diesel car, was of late too familiar on roads for any exclusivity. Now everybod...Read more

Hi, read ur experience. This is India my dear. If the dealership is so near ur house why dont u cal them directly or better still go directly to their showroom.I m sure u will get good response and u will change ur opinion abt GM. I got a good response like that. I recently changed from my Swi...ft Diesel car to a new Skoda Octavia. My suggestion is take a test drive of both optra and octavia/laura. U will feel skoda to be much better built and stable. However, Optra is also a good alternative. My suggestion is, choose a diesel. It will work out much better, be it city travel or highway use. Happy driving.Read More

I researched many laptops-HP HDX series, Dell XPS series, Toshiba Quosmio, Apple Macbook Pro and finally Sony AR series Of these HP and Dell high end laptops are heavy-they are considered as desktop replacements, rather than laptops.  Dell XPS M1730 is value for money though.  Apple & Toshiba...Read more

Hi, The lean tyres standard with swift/dezire are not adequate for the diesel's enthusiastic performance or handling, nor does they look good.Infact with these tyres on, the car looks malnourished. I recently fitted Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, 195 on the same wheel diamtere-R14 with alloys(total 27...K). The tyres really iproved both ride quality and handling of the car-both wet and dry traction is good. Besides the broad tyres look really cool. Mileage apparently is not affected. But I dont know how long the tyres last- some say 25K and some 60K. To get expert opinion read What Car? Aug-Sept 07 issue. Also dont go to sizes higher than R15 as it will decrease ride quality. And to get maximum money to the original tyres drive straight to the tyre shop from the showroom, after delivery of the car.But dont expect much for the originay tyres- they are cheap. Happy driving.Read More

Very short and non-informative review. Give a detailed experience with ur car.Specifically about buying experience, quality of ride, quality of materials used in the car, stability at speed, driving pleasure etc

Hi, Have you driven the car? You show your ignorance when you say Go to petrol if you want power. Actually it should be 'go to diesel if you want power and mileage' and 'go to petrol if you want to waste your money'.

Hi, U R smart. But u can be smarter by taking LICs term policy with single payment option. For example, for Rs 25 lakhs u need to pay a single time payment of Rs 1.64lakhs and coverage is for 35yrs(max upto 70yrs of age). This will work out dam cheap. .

Hi, U will not be disappioneted by the car. While taking the delivery try to see whether the car switches off with AC on during low speeds, as it will indicate ECU problem. Look for water leakage from bonnet into the cabin.Check whether EPS is light enough in parking speeds. Dont buy accessories... from Maruti as they will charge high price for mediocre products in the name of MGA. Go to different car accessories shops and bargain. Stereo- buy Sony MP3 player with Bluetooth as it will make phone convesations easy. Otherwise new series from Pioneer 2930-7930(model numbers) are good. Speakers of pioneer/sony/jbl are good. Autocop central loking systems are good with good service back up. Fix Philips Halogen lamps 100-110w for bright light, but with good relay. Alloy wheels are wise investment for looks and fuel efficiency but also upsize the tyres. 185/65 R15 is a good upsize as it will improve ride(Whatcar aug 07). Read More

Hi, First of all Congratulations. But I would like to add some points here. It is said that life span of a Plasma TV is 60000 hrs. Thats apprx.25yrs of routine watching. Thats bcoz Plasma TV will leak all its gas slowly. So half way of its life its brightness would be half the value of the ...present. At full time its dead. Also, I dont know whether u noticed, U wrote ur TV is HDTV ready. But u have'nt mentioned whether it has HD tuner in it already.HDTVs will mention as HDTV and not as HDTV ready. But it is not very relevant now as our cable and satellite signals are not HD. So actually EDTVs will be better for these signals. Also u did not compare the pros and cons of differnet Tvs like LCD, DLP, Projection with Plasma. So pls comment on above aspects also.Read More

Hi, It is a good review. But if u r a hard core driver u should be driving Swift diesel or Verna diesel.Fiesta just cannot give u that acceleration these two give. Also as u noted reliabiliy is the real issue with Ford. I had a Ikon diesel and it was real pain when it came to servicing as its... so expensive as difficult to get. Also resale value will not be much. But if ur car is good and u dont sell for long..........u have a diesel delight in ur hand. Happy driving buddy.........but keep it safe........Read More

Shamreez, I have a swift diesel since 2.5months. It has crossed 5500 kms. Not even a single sound I have heard yet.So its not true that all swifts rattle. Might be running on a rough road may produce it. I, however run it gently on bad roads. So be assured about build quality and go...buy........e...njoy!!!Read More

I use Swift LDi and am very happy with d car. Look at the reliability the car offers. The power pick up and mileage are also great. The space inside d car is sufficient for five. yes boot is tiny. But look at the overall package. Its a great buy actually.
